Short Summary
My name is Louise Bartolotta and I'm a film student at SUNY Purchase College. This upcoming year, I plan to shoot a short documentary on something important to me- the ocean. Humans love the ocean, its a huge resource, yet its nearly destroyed. This film will explore the average person's effect on the ocean- how your daily routine, from what you eat to the car you drive to how you throw out your trash affects the global ecosystem. I plan on traveling all over the American coast and possibly internationally to see the ocean first hand, interview people with passion for ocean preservation and get some answers as to what's going on!
What We Need & What You Get
- Your donation will go towards airfare and gas money to transport and house my crew and I all over the world, as well as towards equipment, food, animation and post-production, and any fees we may incur at the various locations.
- Depending on your donation, you could receive great perks such as a producer credit, a sustainable fishing brochure, or even a bag of shark gummies!
- If I do not reach my entire goal, your donation will still go towards making my thesis film. Depending on the funds I raise, I plan on either continuing with this documentary on a smaller scale or writing a relative narrative film.
The Impact
- The ocean affects every person on this earth- and every person on earth affects the ocean. I'd like to bring to light how even our smallest actions can lead to a big waste problem.

Risks & Challenges
- Transportation is the biggest challenge! This project will require us to see the ocean first hand to see what's really going on.
Even if you can't contribute, you can support by sharing the project and spreading the word about living sustainably! I need your help in raising money, but the ocean needs help staying clean too!
Thank you! (dolphin sounds)
