Hi, I’m Brooke Baumer, a professional Los Angeles-based actress of TV, film, stage and commercials. Over the past 17 years, I’ve built a successful career, appearing on numerous hit shows. I also got married during this time and became a mom to two little girls, who are now ages 8 and 6. One of the things that I've loved sharing with them is my obsession with all things October … from hayrides to pumpkin bread to the motherload of all holidays, Halloween.

October Baby is the story of my attempt to time the birth of my youngest daughter to happen during my favorite month of the year. Without giving away too much, things didn’t go according to plan. For years, I’ve joked about the journey with friends and family, but honestly, it was a time that cut me to the core. 

Six months ago, I began sifting through old journals, reliving that raw place and time as a woman and a mother. What emerged is a humorous and touching story that I hope will move many a woman in the audience to say, "I get it!" You can get a sneak peek at one scene from the show by clicking here.

I’m proudly presenting the world premiere of October Baby in Los Angeles on February 19, 2017, and hope to be accepted into the 2017 Hollywood Fringe Festival in the spring.  I'm asking for your help to fulfill this vision. Over the last six months, I've invested in rehearsal space, theater rental, director fees, lighting/sound designer, marketing, and expect to have further expenses in all of these categories. I pledge to use resources wisely in order to create as many performance opportunities as possible over the next 1-2 years.

This show is filling my creative cup and giving me the opportunity to do what I love most – perform work that brings joy and laughter to people (two things we can't have enough of in this world).
