I started my wee little Old Toronto Series in the Fall of 2015 as a means to try and bridge the gap of Toronto current with the Toronto of the past. It's grown into a rewarding, successful, time consuming and fantastic hobby of mine. I am launching this small campaign in an attempt to try and make this sustainable and to continue talking about the history of our dear city.
My small Old Toronto Instagram account has grown into a fantastic little community of thousands of Toronto natives celebrating and interacting with archival photos of the city. My newly launched video series has coming up on 1 million Toronto specific Facebook views and thousands upon thousands of interactions. I'm honoured that people seem to enjoy the content, but more importantly I'm excited that so many people share the same appetite for Toronto history as I do.
Many people likely don't realize that Old Toronto is myself. One single guy. I research, film, edit, host, narrate and even write the music to every single piece of content I put out there. It's been a labour of love, but I'm going to need support in order to make this sustainable. I definitely run the risk of appearing even geekier than I already do if I admit how much time and effort each video takes me. Let's just say my dog is due for a walk.
I have come up with some great perks for this campaign and I hope you like them. Each thing helps me continue this interesting, community building project.
Thanks for checking this out!
