OLLO created the first ever footwear designed specifically for Parkour and Freerunning in 2012. We're back with an entirely new collection of shoes, informed by continued testing with superhuman athletes, and now hoping to hit the streets and keep you moving.

After two years of design, development and testing with our Global Athlete Team, the ALPHA and SAPIEN X are ready to move with you. Whether you're training, competing, or discovering a new city, you can be confident that the ALPHA and SAPIEN X can take whatever your environment dishes out.

What's the Difference?

The Sapien X and ALPHA are entirely different from each other. Each with it's own personality and critical performance criteria. Most of our athletes prefer..., well BOTH. See below for an introduction to the features of each model. 

The LAST comes FIRST

The true performance of any shoe begins with proper fit and form. The foundation of all footwear is the LAST, the form that shoes are built on.  OLLO worked closely with the fabled American last maker Jones & Vining to create custom lasts for the ALPHA and SAPIEN X. We discussed with them the needs of our athletes, how they move, and what demands they put on their shoes. They put their 90 years of knowledge and experienceto work to create two masterfully rendered lasts. One to capture the dynamics of the ALPHA and the other to enhance the function of the SAPIEN X.

Not just a pretty face. We consider every surface of every component when we design OLLO shoes. Intelligent engineering doesn't cost more, it just takes a little more time.

A brief History of Parkour

The word Parkour is derivative of Parcours Du Combatant, which refers to a challenging military program to master obstacles. Parkour was born in France in 1988, and is now a global activity enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. It's a practice that focuses both the mind and body, and encourages movement as a way to stay healthy and strong. Watch Yoann Leroux in Paris, in the video below for a great look at the ALPHA and SAPIEN X.

Behind the Scenes

OLLO is a small company launched in 2012 and run by an experienced, dedicated team of experts and professionals.  We are based in Los Angeles where OLLO co-founder and director, Chip Howes, resides.  We develop our shoes with athletes from around the globe, and our manufacturing team has been making top quality athletic footwear for 28 years.

Chip has been designing and bringing footwear to market for 25 years. He has worked primarily in the action sports and street fashion arenas, creating best selling product for brands including, Burton, DC Shoes, REEF, O'Neill, FEIT and others. He and his team are  now focused on the challenge of making shoes for the new generation of 'movement' athletes, whose only equipment requirement IS shoes. Footwear design has been his passion since winning a Reebok sponsored design competition as a student at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and spending the following summer doing a design internship at Reebok headquarters in Massachusetts.

We will ship the ALPHA and SAPIEN X worldwide, with the exception of Argentina, Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar/Burma, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
