Hello! We are Lighthouse Productions and we have been working the past 6 months on our movie, On the Way Up. Production is over and entered into Post-Production. We want to share this movie with as many people as we can. We think this movie, and its subject matter are something that needs to be available to whomever should seek it. That is where we need your help.

On the Way Up is a relationship drama.
The main character, the protagonist, is Sophia. The girl with a new dream job offer. Her long-term boyfriend suffers from Bipolar Disorder. Our scriptwriters invested a lot of time researching, meeting with experts, figuring out how the real disease works in order to portray a realistic, wholesome, and ultimately human portrayal.

We are a group of students at Michigan State University. We come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. For some of us this is our first time making a movie in this size of group (~20) and this length (20 min). For others this is simply the latest and greatest project. Our Director made White Lines last summer. Our Assistant Director worked in the Production Office on the latest Transformers movie. One of our editors won a student academy award for From Flint last year.

We were able to get through pre-production and production proper from the budget we received from MSU. However, in order to give this film the distribution it deserves we need a little help from you.
This was a movie that from day one was intended to be something more than just a credit for our IMDB pages. We wanted to make something smart and illuminating, something that someone with bipolar disorder can go see and be proud of respectable representation, and that someone without can see and will start to shed some light, start asking some new questions.
We shot high, yet we prepared for not making the groundbreaking movie we saw in the script. When the smoke cleared and the movie was done though, we realized we didn’t need to worry about that anymore.
We want to tell the world about this movie. We want to send it out to film festivals. We want a striking and accurate presentation to match with the striking and accurate portrayal of Bipolar Disorder in On the Way Up.
To that end here is the breakdown of how we currently plan to allocate the $2000 we are asking for in this indiegogo.

The movie has finished filming. Therefore the largest risk is already taken care of.
What about if the worst happens and the budget we have calculated to work ends up starting to fall short?
True that is unfortunately a thing to happen, in fact it happened to us early on in production and is part of the reason we come to you all today. That doesn’t mean you should be worried however. Our crew has learned from their mistakes in early production and we improved. We constantly got better and by now I feel confident in our ability to overcome any more possible issues.
Should you still back us after we have reached our $2000 goal?
Of course! Backing shows support more than just financially! It is also a way to be guaranteed a copy of the movie at higher levels. Extra money (if we have any) will be allocated when it is determined we have some, currently the plan would be for more festivals.
