Check out some of the comments about this truth based story: "It is amazing how the playwright managed to keep it short, sweet, colorful and positive considering the hardship the main characters go through". "If this is not attractive enough, its unusual ending embodying.. jubilation and justice will do the trick". ... "spot on conversations"... "Musical accompaniment and the plot of the play come together like crackers and cheese, completing and empahsizing each other's flavor." "Energetic and talented actors... were magnificent" "leaves the viewers with a feeling that even though life is not a bed of roses, everything is possible". "Even though the play is set in history, it speaks to its contemporaries as well which makes "One Drop" even more touching and relevant". "most charming and gratifying" "inspires good thoughts in a world full of negativity." These are just some of the comments received about this work. It is a play based on the playwright's family history, my family history! You now have a never before opportunity to do several once in a lifetime things regarding this work. 1. Help it make the trip from New York to Louisiana where the truth based story took place over a hundred years ago! 2. Help it get the exposure it needs. 3. Help one of the few surviving community theatres in the country continue to survive by bringing this work to it. 4. Help honor the Theatre's Artistic Director who finds this work worthy and should be recognized for bringing such non commercial and conceivably sensitive and controversial subject matters to the fore. 5. Help make a difference in race relations in the south where it has historically needed it the most. 6. Help bridge racial divides by bringing a play to light which promotes understanding and acceptance regarding differences and sensabilities. 7. Help remind people that family composition is what you make it, not necessarily what you are born into. We are best a product of the love we share, not the hatred or lack of love of which we may be victims. 8. Help promote an international cast all of which all are little known but very much deserving of your support. Most importantly come out and allow yourself to be captivated by their passion and their skill. 9. Honor the commitment of this dedicated team, one that is truly like a family, all of which have been repeatedly underpaid. 9. Help support a talented Director and talented crew. 10. Help support talented and worthy musicians with unique and interesting skills and capabilities. 11. Come and enjoy the splendor of the exclusive little City in Louisiana that boasts one of the most scenic and serene coasts in the south, grass lined with hundred year old Oak Trees and fronted by old and newly restored antebellum homes. 12. Support the Gulf Coast which is still undergoing it's fight to revitalize since being hit with multiple natural and unnatural disasters. 13. While on your trip to see this show and support everything associated with it, see and support New Orleans, only 30 miles from the area where the play is set and will be brought home. 14. See the parts of New Orleans that were damaged the most by Hurricane Katrina, some of which are still struggling to rebuild and maybe never can. See the classic areas that were not damaged and continue to thrive and charm jazz and creole and cajun food lovers from around the world. 15. Gain the pride of knowing you helped give light to a show that is CREATIVE and POWERFUL and and EDUCATIONAL and ENTERTAINING and TRUTH BASED and INSPIRING and ORIGINAL!... qualities that are truly rare among a sea theatrical replicas that exist throughout the world. 16. Support this playwright who should be encouraged to do more and should be rewarded or minimally reimbursed for having spent so much for so long to do what she could do personally to create, develop and showcase remarkable stories and remarkable talent. 17. Support the acting industry in general by supporting this play. The success of one is the success of all! 18. Help keep the arts alive!
