Hi, I'm Patrick McMenamin, award-winning filmmaker and the writer & director of the short film, Onomatopoeia. I'm thrilled to invite you to join us on this exciting journey and help bring this unique story to life.  Your support is critical to helping us bring Onomatopoeia to life. 

In this psychological thriller, we follow Joe on his twenty-first birthday. After receiving a message from his late father, Joe's world begins to unravel. Every sound around him - no matter how small - becomes amplified; and bizarrely, these sounds begin to take on a life of their own, almost like they have a voice. A simple click of a key could push Joe to the edge. It's a story about perception, sanity, and the overwhelming power of sound. 

Our team of passionate filmmakers is dedicated to crafting this story with the utmost care and creativity. We'll be shooting on industry-standard equipment to ensure Onomatopoeia delivers an unforgettable, immersive experience.

• Sound Design - This is the heart of Onomatopoeia, and by far the largest portion of our budget. In a world where sound drives the narrative, we need to spend significant time and effort creating a one-of-a-kind sound experience. From capturing unique sounds to crafting the perfect auditory landscape, every sound will play a crucial role in the story.

• Marketing & Distribution - Once the film is complete, we want the world to hear it (literally and figuratively)! Film festival submission fees, distribution costs, and marketing efforts can add up quickly, so we’ve set aside a portion of the budget to ensure Onomatopoeia reaches its audience and gets the recognition it deserves.

• Perks - To show our gratitude, we’ve created some exciting perks for our supporters! These range from special credits in the film, signed posters, and even an Executive Producer credit that will appear on major film platforms like IMDb. We want to make sure every contributor knows just how much we appreciate their support.

We guarantee that 100% of the funds we receive will be used directly to bring Onomatopoeia to life. Our goal is to raise $2,000, and while we’re aiming to hit this target, any additional contributions beyond our goal will go directly toward enhancing our marketing and distribution efforts once the film is complete. A larger budget will allow us to reach a wider audience and make sure the film gets the exposure it deserves.
