BECOME A PATRON OF OPS FEST
Please support our efforts by making a monetary gift to WIL Festival. Our performers step into the shoes of 16th century professionals and walk miles in them all summer long, discovering how Original Practice succeeds in the 21st century.
If you’re ready to give, check out the sidebar to the right of your screen and find a level of giving that matches your means and your corresponding gift. If you want to learn more, read below!
HOW YOU CAN GIVE...
Our shows are always admission free. To pay our bills and our actors in this year's WIL Festival will cost approximately $2,500! We need your help to make that happen!
Help us raise $2,500 - a substantial portion of our operating budget, symbolic of mounting the WIL Festival!
Of course we don't expect all our supporters to be substantial contributors. When you join us in the park, we'll ask you to drop a small contribution into a post-show bucket (our version of passing the hat), and if you are able to give more than spare change or cash on hand, we gladly accept a check or credit card on site. THANK YOU to everyone who has given and continues to give. We simply cannot do it without you.
...AND WHAT YOU WILL GET
Patrons of Shakespeare's company were known to favor individual actors, sometimes directly supporting them with personal tips or gifts or voting with their wallets in other ways: expanding an actor's wardrobe, perhaps in turn helping him win larger, more impressive roles.
We've taken some inspiration from the older economic structure in designing your perks:
SPONSOR AN ACTOR and you have the option to have a creative exchange over a role, perhaps inspiring the kind of character, costume, or behaviors you'll see on stage.
BUSINESS OWNER? Shakespeare's plays are notoriously referential - his audience was used to hearing jabs at rival playwrights, shout outs to favorite taverns, or send ups of contemporary political figures.

YOUR IMPACT
Many of our performers have begun to master the combination of text analysis, vocal and physical athleticism, and improvisation skills that cue script performance demands. Through a combination of training and rigorous experience, impossible to recreate without a viable company.
With the help of Ronni Lacroute, as well as The Swinford Family Foundation, Starseed Foundation, and Many Horses Productions, we've been able to hire professional actors at competitive rates and find a home in the local theatre community.
We keep costs low so we can expand the reach of our season into more neighborhoods. Relative to the modern tradition of massive set construction and architectural verisimilitude, our universal set is lightweight, compact, and reusable. Our tents, costumes, weapons, and minimal properties are available on-location via our spectacular trailer, so we are able travel the Portland metro area and beyond!
We need you! This Indegogo campaign must earn $2,500. If you can help us meet our goal, we’ll be on track for next summer's festival, able to recruit and retain experienced actors, and staffing 12-hour production marathons. Come see for yourself why folks of all ages make our seasons an integral part of their summer!
