This is the Pre-Production campaign for Origins - The Next Feature Film from filmmaker George Cameron Romero. 

This campaign has already helped us raise awareness and attach the legendary Robert Kurtzman to Cameron Romero's Zombie Installment!

Set in the turbulent late sixties shortly before the classic film "Night of the Living Dead", the film tells a story of paying the ultimate price for success.

In 1968, George Romero made a film called “Night of the Living Dead.” A simple, yet terrifying story about a group of people who are trying to survive the night against a monster nobody had ever seen before. This 95 minute indie would catapult a new monster into pop culture history and make them one of the most feared and popular creatures in cinema and pop culture.

The "Zombie"

Since then, the Zombie has appeared in:

• 130 Video Games

• 88 TV Series

As it stands now, the Zombie lives on and is feasting on the hearts and minds of audiences the world over. 

The Romero Zombie at the root of it all developed it’s rabidly loyal fan base because it inspired REAL terror in it’s audience:

• The Zombie Cannot be Reasoned with

• The Zombie USED to be us at some point

• The Individual Zombie is relatively non-threatening; the danger is in the hordes.

Now, almost 50 years later the Legacy continues. George Cameron Romero has taken it upon himself to carry on the Legacy that his father created... the definitive Origin story of a legend as told by a legacy.

George Cameron Romeo is announcing his film "Origins," which will serve as his humble and respectful installment into the genre created by his father.

Origins is the story in the Romero universe of how the first 'Zombie' strolled across that cemetery and into lives of those in the 'dead' series almost fifty years later. This is a project that will re-define the genre… as well as the monster and everything that scares you about them.

Why do we need ANOTHER Zombie Movie?

We don’t. We don’t. But this isn’t just ANOTHER Zombie Movie. If you’re a zombie fan... this is the definitive answer to your questions about the creatures as told by the second generation of Romero. 

This is about a legend continuing through legacy.

Origins takes place in the Turmoil of the 1960's just shortly before "Night of the Living Dead", and explains how The 'Original' Romero Zombie was created.

In 1962, Dr. Ryan Cartwright was on the scientific and altruistic path to find a way for humans to sustain life in the event of M.A.D (Mutual Assured Destruction), a huge topic brought on by the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Little did he know that over the course of the next several years of his life, he would take a well-funded and military focused journey to the darkest corners of the world…  as he creates the ultimate weapon for the government and a curse that will plague mankind for the rest of days.

I feel this is something that I HAVE to do.  Not only to reclaim the genre in the name of my family and not only to tell the story that my dad couldn’t tell in the 60s… but also because I… like all of you… was raised on my dad’s creation and am, above all else, a super fan.

That being said, for $150k, we CAN make this movie happen, right now we are in pre-production for the film and there is a lot we need to get the ball rolling.


Your money is going to help us do the following:

• Attach the RIGHT cast [NOT the most expensive], with the RIGHT interest in this film, no compromises!
• Hire talented Department Leads [Artist, Costumers, Designers]
• Show investors that there is an interest in this film

No matter what, we are putting 100% of any funds raised into the PRODUCTION of this film.
