But there's still more we can do. Film festivals aren't cheap, and every new contribution means we'll be able to enter Other Halves into more festivals, getting the word out to more and more people. All of that positive buzz affects the final distribution of the film, whether that's on the big screen, DVD, or streaming.

Completing Other Halves
Other Halves is an independent, techno-horror film about a team of programmers who creates a dating app. On the night the app launches, they discover certain side-effects. The user loses all inhibitions, becoming amoral, violent... evil.
Inspired by programs like Women Who Code, we (tech geeks and filmmakers Kelly Morr & Matthew Price) decided to create a team of mostly female characters, which is unusual in both the coding world and horror films. We gathered a talented cast, led by Lauren Lakis and Mercedes Manning, who brought these characters to life.

The Horror of Dating Apps
We filmed Other Halves on a shoestring budget by capitalizing on our connections and resources in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and by recruiting a talented cast and crew who were all passionate about the project. We are almost at the finish line but need a little more capital to help us complete the film for release.
Your contribution will help us add visual effects, complete the sound mix, and create the tone of the film through music. All of this will help us get Other Halves into film festivals, and ultimately find a distributor.
As a thanks for your contribution, we've come up with a few exciting perks: For just $30, you'll get a digital copy of the movie, before anyone else. At $50, you'll appear in the Other Halves app. Other perks include tickets to the cast & crew screening, and even credit on screen!
Whether we raise $500 or $5,000, EVERY DOLLAR will go towards improving the movie. The more you contribute, the more time and resources we can devote to things like effects, music, and promotion, to make Other Halves as effective and exciting as possible.
A Unique Film
Other Halves is a horror film, with all the terror and edge-of-your-seat thrills you'd expect. But it's more than just gore and jump scares; the film also explores interesting issues — like the social impact of modern technology — and challenges traditional gender roles in film with a cast of interesting and eclectic women.
Plus, there's a hot guy who walks around shirtless for, like, half the movie.
