I've grown up surrounded by the redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains. Wood is a remarkable material, it's cool to the touch but not cold like metal. It feels natural on your wrist and the smooth polish imparts an amazing feeling. Lay your hand on any fine crafted wooden good and run your hand along the surface, it's a feel that no artificial material can recreate, it just feels RIGHT.
These bands impart an individuality and uniqueness to a smartwatch that hasn't been seen yet. In contrast to the dozens of identically machined bands out there, wood creates truly unique pieces.

We've set an agressive timetable to get Ottm on your wrist. We are looking to get Ottm in your hands June/July. Customs, QA and additional Android Wear device release testing may push delivery closer to the end of July than June.

We have several production ready prototypes ready and waiting, but we need your help to go into production. So far, my friends and family have helped fund the first leg of Ottm, but to get to the next chapter we need your support! Help us fund the next chapter, get a band, help bring a startup to life and get a really cool watchband to flaunt.

Q; When do you expect to ship Ottm?
We are projecting Mid to late May as the shipdate for Ottm bands. Some backers may receive their bands sooner than others.
Q: Are the bands adjustable?
Yes, we use the same adjustment pin system that luxury Swiss watches use. You can resize your band at a jeweler or Watch retailer or alternatively use a re-sizing system purchased online or provided by us (if we reach our stretch goal).
Q: Will I get splinters?
No, the wood has been sanded down and then treated with Tung oil - there is no coarseness or roughness and no chance of splinters.
Q: Do you plan on offering other woods?
Not at the moment.
Q: Do you offer Apple/Android/Pebble adapters in the Space Gray/Gold color?
No, to reduce cost and complexity, all adapters are in silver.
Q: Why aren't there more wood puns?
I woodn't know.

We've already identified and have communicated with two factories on producing Ottm at a cost that is acceptable. Our chief concern would be around timing - it's possible that delays in manufacturing or more likely issues with customs and shipping could cause the delivery date of perks to slip by 1 month. We may also delay Android Wear by a little bit if a major new release (next 360, Huawei Watch, etc) is announced/shipped. We plan on testing and modifying band vertical/horizontal clearance as necessary for these new devices.
We will endeavor to be as transparent as possible about shipping and the production schedule. Backers will be first to know when they'll be getting an Ottm band. Updates will be posted here and on www.getottm.com
