What is 'Out'?
'Out' is a short film crewed by University of Iowa students from Student Video Productions.
'Out' is about a sister and brother, haunted by gray shapes in the woods, who struggle against the unwanted advances of their deceased father's colleague. It takes place in a sparse, dystopian future.
Ryan Eakins, the Director/Producer recently finished his first short film, 'Google Me Love' and has worked on the set of 'Cloud Atlas' and the upcoming 'Jupiter Ascending'.
Student Video Productions' goal with 'Out' is to teach students interested in filmmaking about all of the aspects of a film, including set etiquette, image design and to give students a chance to try a variety of the skills involved in making a film.
Why Get Involved?
Or should we say 'Out'-volved?
- Student Video Productions is a student run organization for the University of Iowa. Which means your contributions go straight to the necessities involved in teaching kids about the filmmaking process. Check out our website here: http://svp.uiowa.edu
- We are raising money so we can feed the people working on the production, who will be working typical 'production' 12 hour days.
- Our fundraising goal is $1500 and we are expecting to spend $250 to $300 a day to feed the 30-45 people who will be on set for the 4 days of shooting. $150 to $200 will go to gas for the generator. Anything over our goal will go to building the 2 monster costumes and set decoration.
- Plus, the perks are pretty dang cool.
