About Outlander Fan Documentary
There is a vast community of fans devoted to the Outlander books and television series. The community's passion, caring spirit, and unity has helped many of them through life's difficulties. Outlander Fan Documentary is an inspirational and heartwarming tale of how lives have been touched and how this tight-knit, loving community was created.
With the advent of social media, the phenomenon of the fan community - once the domain of adolescents but now encompassing adults around the world - has blossomed. The Outlander books and show have generated a fandom of particular intensity and dedication. We hope to celebrate the joys, friendships, and healing aspects of this community in this documentary created by the fans, for the fans. You can join us in this undertaking by helping us finance, promote, or otherwise contribute your talents to this project.
The Outlander Fan Documentary project was created by Cynthia Dawn. Her husband, Keith, passed away in 2017 from cancer. He was a history buff, ancient battles and weaponry expert, and fellow Outlander fan.
What We Need & What You Get
- All funding will go toward equipment and crew, to assist in the quality completion of this film.
- We’re so excited, and can’t wait to tell you all about the unique perks we’ll be offering to our supporters!
The Impact
Through the help of the extraordinary Outlander fan community around the world, Cynthia, and countless others just like her, have found healing & inspiration. This documentary is dedicated to those affected by illness.
Originally formed in the spring of 2018, the crew of Outlander Fan Documentary began as an idea for a simple coffee table book, but we knew our voices needed to be heard & this story needed to be told. That’s when the documentary was born.
Risks & Challenges
Self-funded, since the beginning, and run entirely by a talented group of volunteers. We were running full speed ahead, until everyone went into lockdown, in March of 2020. We spent the next several months, working out of our homes. Since, the pandemic lockdown has impacted us greatly, bringing on new challenges, so much so, that we can no longer continue this production sufficiently without generous support.
Other Ways You Can Help
Support comes in many forms, and is welcomed and appreciated! Although we appreciated ministry funding, there are plenty of ways to help us complete this project.
