Southpaw Cat Cafe
Scott Fardella opened Southpaw Cat Cafe on November 5th, 2016. At the time, we were Canada's sixth cat cafe. Between November 2016 and June 2018, nearly 70 cats found their forever homes through the cafe, and the cafe became a landmark in the community.
Unfortunately, due to a confluence of unfortunate circumstances, the cafe closed its doors on June 1st, 2018.
Own a Piece of the Boxing Cat!
Southpaw had a great deal of regular customers and strong support in the community, but sometimes the market just doesn't work in your favor and businesses don't thrive, despite an otherwise great concept.
However, if you were a fan of Southpaw and you'd like to show your support, or if you had your eye on a certain piece of merchandise but never made it to the cafe to grab it, this is your last chance! If you adopted a cat through the cafe and you would like the original Polaroid of your cat at the cafe - those are available too!
The financial goal was arbitrarily chosen, there's no specific thing these donations will help subsidize, but Southpaw was a sole-proprietorship and any time a business like this closes down, it can create a significant financial burden on the owner.
Scott has a side project on the go that needs funding - a podcast titled Into The Void with Scott Fardella. It's an interview-style, comedic podcast that uses long form conversations to cover a variety of topics both significant in the local community and current events around the globe. The majority of the guests will be locals, so if you'd like to see this project grow and develop, all support is happily encouraged! Check us out on Instagram @intothevoidpodcast , or of course on iTunes & Android by searching Into The Void with Scott Fardella. New episodes are available weekly!
Otherwise, if you just feel like donating, you're certainly under no obligation, but every penny is appreciated.
Thanks for your support Kingston, it's been a great ride!
