We are a small dedicated team of students from all over the University of Michigan campus, independently presenting a production of Jason Robert Brown's Tony Award-winning musical "PARADE."
Our goal is to present PARADE as never before, with a focus on its message of heroism in the face of adversity, and the painful relevance of oppression a century later.
PARADE is about Leo Frank, a Jewish factory manager in Georgia at the dawn of the twentieth century who is wrongfully accused of the murder of a young girl. When his trial culminates in only a life sentence, a gang of vigilantes come together to lynch the innocent man. This powerful narrative is an indictment of bigotry and a celebration of hope in the face of adversity.
Through the generous partnership of Hillel and West Side United Methodist Church, our goal is to present this production against the backdrop of a church sanctuary, as well as take our rehearsals to various locations on campus (such as Hillel) to open up dialogues on interfaith and race relations in America today.
Your donation will help pay for music expenses, licensing fees, lighting equipment, and audio equipment.
We want to make this the best, most inclusive production of PARADE ever put on by a small group of students, but it won't be possible without your generosity!
