We want to empower you! We want to offer you an alternative you can get behind in order to make the world a better place through several principles:

It is costly for the people, for the earth, and it always benefits the same group of very rich people. While we started thinking about how to change this way of life, the idea of creating t-shirts came to us. It is a very democratic and unisex piece of clothing unlike suits.
We wanted to create more than just plain white t-shirts. They had to display amazing and powerful designs with deeply meaningful messages. They also had to be “beautifully” and ethically made using innovative and sustainable production technologies.
We started thinking that together we could change the world one shirt at a time, and it was already a really great start.
Paradigm Shirt was created in 2017, and is on a mission to change the second most polluting industry.

We selected 9 world-changing non-profits to partner with. Together we found a quote that deeply resonated with their cause. Then we collaborated with super talented designers to illustrate the quote. Each design was made in 3 different versions and we asked you guys to vote for you favorite one!

Did you know that the people who make the clothes sold in fast fashion receive only between 0,5% and 3% of the clothes price? That means when a worker makes a 20€ t-shirt they are paid between 0,1€ and 0,6€, and we are not even talking about children labour. This has to stop.
At Paradigm Shirt we care about the people and the environment that is why our production is 100% ethical and eco-friendly.
Everything is sourced and produced in Japan, from raw material to finished product for a minimized carbon footprint. Japaneses have been mastering the fabric production for centuries and it made sense to appeal to their knowledge to create our textile. It also guarantees us and you humane labor practices for all the happy workers (no psychedelics involved, promise).

To keep bottles out of landfills we recycle and transform them into polyester and use it as fabric for our garments. It limits soil contamination, air, and water pollution.
Polyester from recycled plastic bottles can be indefinitely recycled without no degradation of quality. So it means you can buy a t-shirt that will last a lifetime!

We decided to use an innovative, and sustainable waterless dyeing technique: the Airdye Technology. It is as futuristic as it sounds.
With traditional dyeing method “If a customer needs 300m but the dyeing machine needs 500m to get the right colour, so you are always producing things that are not necessary.” Hani Debs Managing Director and Vice President of Debs Textile Corporation.
The Airdye production system enables production from a few meters without any compromise on quality. It can print and dye with a single pass through AirDye machines. No pre-processes are necessary, eliminating a lot of time and waste in production. By using air instead of water to convey dyes, no hazardous waste is emitted, and no water is wasted.

After working in the entertainment industry for a few years, our CEO, Alexandre Coissard decided to do something that was really aligned with his values and life purpose.
He is from that tribe of social entrepreneurs. For him, businesses should truly benefit the people and the planet, by delivering value sustainably produced, with strong ethics at their core to reduce inequalities and suffering for all living things. His belief is that we should all do our best and be part of the solution to create a better world.

Starting the production
We need your help to start producing the t-shirts in Japan. What we are starting together is so much more than just clothes, it about deciding what world we want to live in. Mass consumption and polluting is too costly for humans and for the environment. Join us on our mission and #BeTheChange
Creating new products
Crowdfunding campaigns are a great way to interact with you guys and see how you perceive our product. Feedback is such valuable information to improve our product. If this campaign is a success it will allow us to start creating new and improved products: denims, shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, underwear, accessories... so you can be eco-friendly dressed and stylish from head to toe. Who doesn’t want that?
Launching an e-shop
We want our t-shirt to go directly from us to you without any intermediaries. This allows us to offer our eco-friendly t-shirts at the fairest price. That is why we will launch our e-shop with all our products.
Extra
If this campaign is extremely successful, our other goals are to create an awesome self reliant eco-village with an animal sanctuary, and open-source alternative schools. So no worries, no fancy sports cars, designer suits, bling, or big mansions involved.

Why produce in Japan?
We produce our t-shirts in Fukui, Japan. Everything is sourced and made there from raw materials to the finished product for a minimized carbon footprint. Our customers live around the globe so Japan is a perfect central production place. We ship our product directly from Japan to you.
It made sense to produce our garments in this country due to its history with the textile industry. Japanese have been mastering the fabric production for centuries: from manufacturing to dyeing and embroidering. Nowadays they combine their century-old techniques with new scientific technologies to create high-tech textiles.
Being eco-friendly is as important to us as being ethical. Producing our clothes in Japan guarantees us and our customers humane labor practices for all the happy workers. We visited our workshop in Japan so we can guarantee that our suppliers share our values of ethics and ecology.
Why don’t you use organic cotton or hemp?
Cotton is a natural fiber but a very thirsty plant! Textile manufacturers use up to 2,5 trillion gallons of water every year (that’s like, a LOT!). Water is a rare and precious resource, we need to stop taking it for granted. Cotton is not infinitely recyclable like recycled polyester and cannot be dyed with the eco-friendly Airdye technique. Hemp is more sustainable than cotton, but still consumes more resources than recycled plastic bottles, and as it is a natural fiber it cannot use waterless dye either. Traditional dye consumes a lot of water and is very polluting.
What about microparticles released by plastic?
Unfortunately, there is no perfect solution when it comes to textile, but our process according to research is the most sustainable one. Microparticles are very small bits of plastic released when washing clothes for example. They are a real issue because they are filtered and they end up contaminated the oceans and killing fishes because they eat them. About 60% of all clothes are synthetics so everyone is concerned. After doing some research we found 3 simple ways to solve this issue :
The Guppy Friend, the affordable and cutting edge washing bag that catches it all (http://guppyfriend.com/)
Lint LUV-R: On top of removing micro-plastics, it helps to protect your plumbing, and septic system (http://www.environmentalenhancements.com/)
The Cora ball: a cute and simple ball that you just toss into your machine (http://coraball.com/)
Why t-shirts?
It is a very democratic and unisex piece of clothing unlike suits, and it fits everyone :)
When is the rest of the collection coming out?
If (or should I say “When” ;) ) this campaign is a success it will allow us to start creating new and improved products: denims, shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, underwear, accessories... so you can be eco-friendly dressed from head to toe. Maybe in the next few months if you guys are as excited as we are. We already have plenty of ideas!
How can I choose my design and size for the perks?
Once the campaign ends, you’ll be contacted through email to complete your order survey on BackerKit’s platform, and choose all your options. You will even be able to add last minute additional purchases!
Can I find your products in stores?
No, this your one chance to get your Paradigm Shirt before everyone else! we are currently distributing only through this campaign, and hopefully soon through our own online store.
What if I want to donate my 10% to a different non-profit?
Each t-shirt is made in collaboration with a specific non-profit. We chose a quote that that deeply resonated with their cause, and the design is illustrating it. For now for consistency and logistic reasons it is not possible for you to give your 10% to another non-profit.
When will I receive my order?
Our suppliers are on the edge of their seats waiting for all your pledges! Between all the production process and logistics, we hope to start shipping during December 2017.
What if the t-shirt doesn't fit?
If you carefully pay attention to the size guide this shouldn’t happen. We are producing for orders, so we won’t really hold inventory. In the event of this happening, we will do our best to find a solution with you.
How do you wash the t-shirts?
Like regular t-shirts at 30°C. The Airdye print is really resistant :)
