Short Summary
We are the Park Hill First Robotics Team, the Trobots. The 2013-2014 school year was our rookie year, and we are seeking donations in order to get ourselves to the 2015 FRC Kansas City Regional.
We began as a group of students who wanted to have an extracurricular activity, and none of the ones our school was offering seemed to interest us. So, after finding a mentor, we began our own robotics team. Last year, our team went to the regional robotics competition, and as rookies we placed 15th. We are looking to go back with experience, but we need your help to do it.
What We Need
We are looking for donations of any size, no donation is too small. The donations that we receive would go towards a few different areas. These areas would include:
- New technology to help with programming our robot
- Parts and machines to help build our robot
- Entry fees for the Kansas City Regional
The Impact
The impact that your donation will have is massive. It not only will help to fund an activity that allows students to think creatively, work together to problem solve, and be hands on, it will help to fund a new generation of scientists, engineers, and many more much needed professions.
Risks & Challenges
Our goal for this 2015 Kansas City Regional is to qualify for finals. The top eight teams are the only ones that qualify, and last year we ended up ranking 15th. So, we have a lot of work to do, but we believe it can be done. The risks and challenges that could arise would be:
- The robot could malfunction
- We may be under-equipped to face some of the tougher opponents
- Other problems having to do with the building of the robot
Other Ways You Can Help
If you are unable to donate, we understand. But, there is another way that you can help our team. By spreading the word about this campaign, you can help this team to get to the regional competition. So please, even if you cannot donate, tell others about the campaign, and help this team a team of winners.
Also, any donations you may make to our team is tax deductible!
