We are a young design team with a passion for design, cycling and nature. We are devoted to the design of cycling accessories, with an ultimate goal of endowing cycling accessories with unique characteristics of animals.

Pelephant is a bicycle pedal but not just a pedal.

Besides pedaling, Pelephant provides temp support & be a rest for the bike.

Since the birth of bicycles in the 17^th century, the pedal is one of the important accessories. Moving with the times, people started to pursue greater functionality of pedals. They believe that the functions that a pedal can offer to users should not be limited to getting a bicycle moving. Such thought has ignited creativity in pedal design. Therefore, we begin to see lots of interesting and innovative pedal products in the market, for example some pedals can be converted into bike locks, or treadles, or can even connect to WIFI and GPS.

It is ZOO GEAR’s strong belief that design should keep pace with the times. We therefore started to think: 

What kind of pedals do people need in the 21st century?

We are living in an era in which the Internet and social media are popular. We enjoy sharing moments of our lives and cycling is no exception – with magnificent scenery, taking a few beautiful pictures of our bikes to show our unique taste and what we see.

However, to take a cool and enviable picture, we often need the help of many tools, for example, leaning on the tree, using props like helmets, stones, cans, or even assistance from others.

What we are thinking is that why isn’t there a simpler and cooler way? Taking photos as we wish, anytime anywhere without people’s help or garbage picking in the street! Imagine you can fix your bike, take a couple of pictures and share, and then leave for your next destination within one minute.

This is the motive for our design:

What is your choice?

To prevent users accidentally press down the pedal stand while pedaling, we did a lots of work to make sure it won't fall off by accident.

The “ground” end is covered with a rubber foot.

You can simply use measuring tape to find out what size is suitable for your bike.

In this stage, we provide dark grey colour only. We will release two more colours for selection once the campaign successfully funded. Make it happen, backers!

Zoo Gear always want to make effort on saving the animals, saving the wildlife. We hope both human and animals can live in a better world. Once this campaign successfully funded, we will donate 10% of funding (costs deducted)  to The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), help protect the planet's most threatened species and habitats.

How can i choose the color & size of Pelephant?​

A fine question! When the campaign ends on Sept 30, we will send you an email to confirm what style and pedal size you'd like. We'll then update your order accordingly.

Can i use Pelephant on fixed gear?

Currently not. We will open the special perk after receiving an amount of orders.

Can i use the photo friendly stand on both side?

Yes. Both Ron & Lucas have this feature.

Will the pedals swing unstably while parking the bike?

No. The mechanism of Pelephant is designed to rotate in one direction only, it makes the bike more stable while parking. But don't worry, this mechanism won't affect your cycling.

Can my bike against strong wind while using the stand?

It depends. Pelephant is not a kickstand, the bike will fall down under strong wind. However, if you use Ron or Lucas in a right direction, it maybe stand against this condition.

Forecasting Risk

Over the 8 past years Zoo Gear team members have learned a great deal. Using this experience, Zoo Gear has created a plan that will meet both demand and production needs. However, sometimes even after the most meticulous planning, forecasts aren’t always accurate. In the unlikely event that we miss our projections, we will inform our support the minute it happens.
