Peyman CVT: Fully Automatic Transmission for Bicycles
Today, bicycles have become more practical and popular than ever due to their affordability, zero reliance on fossil fuels (resulting in no pollution), and their ability to reduce urban traffic congestion. They are widely used for urban commuting, cargo transportation, leisure, and fitness. Any innovation that simplifies and enhances the usability of this essential mode of transportation can significantly encourage more people to adopt cycling.
One of the most transformative innovations in this field is a reliable, automatic gear system that requires no batteries, electricity or electronic components, replacing conventional derailleur systems. Peyman CVT, with its fully automatic transmission system, delivers this convenience, providing cyclists and bicycle enthusiasts with an unparalleled riding experience. The system is now in its final stages of development and will soon be available on the market.
What is Peyman CVT?
Peyman CVT is a fully automatic belt drive continuously variable transmission system designed to replace all conventional bicycle gear components. This system operates autonomously, requiring no batteries, electronic or software systems, and adjusts torque seamlessly in real time to meet the rider's needs.
With its smooth operation and extensive torque range (from underdrive 0.5 to overdrive 5), Peyman CVT ensures optimal performance across various terrains. Whether riding in urban areas, on mountainous trails, or at high speeds on flat roads, cyclists can enjoy unparalleled efficiency and comfort delivering an experience unlike anything seen in conventional bicycles.
First prototypes
In order to simplify installing the prototypes on the bicycles', we have designed the first prototypes on the bicycles' rear wheel.
Final Prototype
The final prototype is installed in the middle of the bicycles' frame with the pedals, which will be so when it is introduced to the market.
An Invention of Distinction
This groundbreaking innovation, officially patented in the United States, is positioned as the ultimate replacement for traditional bicycle gear systems. Our roadmap aims for its market launch by late 2025.
Addressing Current Gear System Challenges
Traditional bicycle gear systems present several challenges, including frequent malfunctions, chain derailments, and limited adaptability. These issues become particularly noticeable after long rides when fatigue sets in, and riders lack the energy to adjust torque effectively. This can diminish the cycling experience and even lead to health issues such as joint pain over time.
For children aged 8-14, managing gear systems is often challenging. Many children fail to use the correct gear for their route or neglect to change gears altogether, which can compromise their enjoyment and long-term joint health. Peyman CVT eliminates these challenges by automating gear changes, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable cycling experience for them.
Automatic Adaptability: A Game Changer
The Peyman CVT transmission system features a wide torque range and operates entirely automatically. It adjusts torque based on the rider's weight, pedal pressure, cadence, and terrain gradient. Unlike traditional systems, where riders must adapt to the gears, Peyman CVT adapts to the rider, offering a seamless experience.
Durability and Longevity
Our final design incorporates high durability, oil lubricated internal components to ensure a long lifespan. This robust construction enables extended warranty, providing users with confidence in the system's reliability. Cyclists can enjoy their rides without worrying about maintenance, adjustments, or repairs.
Key Benefits of Peyman CVT:
Fully automatic operation, without batteries, electronic or software systems.
Wide torque range: from underdrive 0.5 to overdrive 5.
Lighter weight compared to conventional gear systems.
More affordable than traditional multi-component gear systems.
Maintenance-free design.
Long-term warranty.
Ideal for children’s bicycles.
Exceptional performance in all weather conditions.
Can be installed on electric bicycles
Research and Development Journey
Our journey began in 2019 with extensive research and development. Despite setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed progress, we have successfully overcome challenges in system compatibility and performance. Initial designs using various belts were unsatisfactory, leading to a unique hybrid design combining chains and belts to achieve optimal efficiency and quality.
Roadmap to Market
We are currently finalizing the prototype, with plans to complete production testing within four months. Our goal is to bring this exceptional product to market before the end of 2025, enabling cycling enthusiasts to experience the benefits of a fully automatic transmission system.
