Thank you to all of our contributors and everyone that has helped spread the word for the Playa Moon fundraiser! We are just over 50% funded, and on track to meet our goal in the last week of our campaign. There are a few new perks to check out, and we are putting together some surprise thank you packages for the 3 funders who refer the most people to the campaign (see details below), and for the last 10 people to donate.
We are excited to bring Playa Moon to the burn this year (she’ll be located at 7:30 & J), and need your help to share the details with our larger community and social groups.
We’ve added a few new perks, and upgrades.
1) $200 – personal graffiti – we will create a piece of original graffiti art on our firehouse structure at the burn, and send you a photo of the finished work.
2) $100 – custom cocktail - Have a custom cocktail created and named after you. We will serve it at the Do-More-Now bar on playa, and even send you the recipe!
3) $45 – Monthly Do-More-Now motivational emails. Each month receive a new email with a Do-More-Now motivational saying or quote to keep you motivated until next Burning Man!
4) Update to the Full Monty – Sticker, thank you from playa, t-shirt, boyshorts, monthly motivational emails, custom cocktail and personal graffiti.
5) Thank you for Sharing – Use the sharing buttons on the page (http://igg.me/at/playamoon), and we will track the number of visitors from your link. The top 3 referrers will receive a special token of our appreciation!
6) Last 10 – The last 10 contributors to the campaign will receive a special thank you package.

What is Playa Moon?
Playa Moon is a 65’ spherical projection screen. Each night of
Burning Man the Playa Moon will be inflated, rising from the desert floor to cast a
6-story hypnotic combination of lights and images that will be visible across
the playa.

Do-More-Now is a camp of experienced Burners with a multi-year proven
track record of bringing innovative, inspiring, and larger than life projects
to Burning Man including the 5-story Firehouse, Cervantes, Starlight, Escher, the
2,500 ft2 Escher Puzzle, and the Clown Shoe. This year the team is bringing
Playa Moon to light up the desert night.
Bringing Playa Moon to Burning Man 2015
As with any grand plan,
bringing Play Moon to Burning Man requires vision, elbow grease, a bunch of
crazy people, and, of course a certain amount of money. The team has already
procured the structure, pumps and basic anchors, but is looking to raise funds
for additional costs and considerations. These include:
Transport
& Fuel
o
The Playa Moon with
all of assorted accessories requires a truck and a trailer to move it 700 miles
to the playa and back again.
o
We will also need fuel
for the pumps to make Playa Moon rise. Estimated transportation and fuel costs:
$1,500.
Anchoring
o
An inflatable this
size requires a very heavy duty additional anchoring system to ensure the
Playa Moon stays exactly where we put it. Estimated anchoring costs: $1,500.
Lights
& Projection
o
Additional lighting
and controls to create a hypnotic light show.
Stretch
Goals & Flexible Funding
The basics are nice,
but we’ve set a few stretch goals for this project.
Stretch Goal 1: If we exceed
our initial goal, we will add basic projectors and project images onto the
sphere.
Stretch Goal 2: This is the goal for reaching
our ultimate vision. Adding even more lights and higher quality projection to
create stunning coordinated effects and video treatments sure to inspire even
the crustiest of Burners.
Flexible Funding: In the event that we do not
meet our initial goal, funds will be used first to fulfill perks, and subsidize
safety & transport costs. Any amount raised above those costs will go to fuel
and lighting.
