PlexiDrone Begins Shipping Program
As of May 2018, DreamQii Inc. has begun the delivery perks that backers contributed towards during the PlexiDrone campaign. The final step in preparing for these initial deliveries involved the design of limited edition Backer Exclusive packaging and navigating the very complex world of international shipments.

Mass Production Approval!
After having built a batch of production quality PlexiDrones, DreamQii focused on refining the manufacturing process to support increased production rates and reduced cost, all without compromising quality. Getting a product ready for high volume production required attention to small details that would otherwise have major impacts on the end product, our customers, and our business.
Preparing components for high volume production required several stages of review and approval processed which began with an internal review of Design For Manufacturing (DFM) compliance. Key measures in part of this design assurance helped to eliminate issues before having invested in production tooling.
Cutting metal is the point of no return in manufacturing.
If you’re going to cut metal, you had better be confident that the design is right! Each tool is good for 100,000 parts, so you’d better be happy with the results! Our team spent hundreds of hours qualifying prototype components and developing design standards before investing in this stage.
Every plastic component had to be inspected for imperfections in order to calibrate the injection mold process for mass production. This stage was as rigorous as the staged prior.
Qualifying parts that are critical to flight safety is important to our customers and our business performance. This also means we got to break things in super slow motion. PlexiDrone’s battery plastics had to be qualified for safe transport in addition to safe flight. Yes, this means we had to drop batteries from every probable orientation and adjust designs until we believed they went just beyond our performance requirements.

It is incredible how far the PlexiDrone development and production journey has taken us. No matter how much progress is made, we (our dev team and our backers) have new challenges to overcome. Most recently, our focus has been on product delivery, shipping, certification, and testing.

Our team takes great pride in the quality & attention to detail for every aspect of the PlexiDrone product-line. Part of delivering to our backers means that product packaging design must be ready to go and pass shipping requirements (things can get shaky in transit). Not only that, but our packaging is a representation of our brand, and must extend itself to the retail environment.

PlexiDrone Shipping Timeline
As stated in our last update, we are preparing to begin initial deliveries in June 2017. Based on our production and media schedule, we expect that all backer orders will be fulfilled within 60 to 90 days after delivery begins. The challenges in shipping to over 97 countries are great, but our logistics team is working out the details with our shipping gateways to reduce costs as much as possible with our new volumes (which are much higher than at end of original campaign).
