POD is the world's first sustainable material privacy case that
prevents the audio, visual and location tracking of your cell phone.

Why do I need the POD?
Cell phones help us communicate rapidly and keep track of our lives - they also track our lives. They are highly engineered devices that are designed to maximize reception, pinpoint our locations, give us directions, recognize speech, faces and more. Cell phones are the perfect surveillance device, that allows the tracking of all who use them. Watch this short video by the ACLU detailing the information that can be learned about a person by just analysing your cell phone's location data:
How does POD work?
The inner fabric used on the POD is a blend of bamboo and conductive silver thread. When your phone is placed inside and the lid is closed, POD creates a
Faraday cage or conductive shield around your phone. This shield causes wireless signals meant for cell phones to pass around the surface of the POD (see illustration below), preventing wireless signals from reaching your phone.

The Impact
POD
is a product that provides a solution to issues of privacy, personal
and environmental health. It's the intersection of sustainability, security, privacy and health.
Exterior
All our hemp fabrics/blends meet the following standards

100% Hemp Canvas
An excellent hard wearing, germ fighting fabric, hemp canvas is UV resistant, hypoallergenic and 8 - 10x stronger than cotton. Its growth process requires little to no pesticides and less than 50% of the water needed to produce cotton. Our hemp is also

70/30 Hemp/Silk Blend
The silk blended hemp has all the benefits of the hemp with a silky smooth exterior that is much stronger than conventional silk because of the hemp core.

Interior/Shielding Fabric
Bamboo/Silver Blend
The interior blend of 70% bamboo and 30% silver is the layer that prevents radio waves from reaching your phone. Bamboo is the worlds' fastest land growing plant and does not require intensive pesticides or herbicides. Excellent moisture wicking and germ fighting properties also make it an excellent choice.

What We Need & What You Get
We need funding to push through the stage of manufacture engineering to determine the lowest possible and final manufacturing cost. We've already invested thousands of dollars into getting the POD to this point.
The POD will be made in California, in a clean and equitable factory that is certified to produce medical devices. Their level of craft will allow a consistent product that delivers your privacy.
You have the option to be a part of history - ourstory - the beginning of fighting back to control our privacy.

About The Developer
I'm Preston, I've studied the history of ancient cultures/civilizations
and counter intelligence. Most recently I've received my Masters in
Regenerative Studies - or sustainable practices. POD is a fusion of my
passion, experiences and studies.
Risks
In the past, privacy accessories have not been a product the average person has invested in, largely due to the lack of information on the subject of cell phone surveillance and privacy. On top of this, our choice of sustainable, high quality materials and domestic manufacturing leaves a high overhead cost. It's our final goal to get through the manufacture engineering process and make the POD available at the lowest possible price.

FAQ
Can I still get texts, voice calls, emails etc, when my phone is in the POD?
No - your phone will not transmit or receive any wireless signals or data when placed inside the POD.
Can't I just power down my phone?
No,
cell phones can still be accessed and used for surveillance when they
are powered off. Most phones today power off on the software level,
leaving the power circuit connected.
Why can't I just use "Airplane Mode?"
Airplane
mode uses software to prevent your phone from transceiving wireless
signals. Software is not the most reliable security measure to rely on -
particularly in context of avoiding surveillance. POD guarantees your
privacy by creating a privacy wall when you demand it.
Wouldn't removing the battery solve my issues with surveillance?
Not all phones have removable batteries. Further, there are reports
that phones can still be located with their batteries removed. The POD
requires you only to place your phone in and close the lid.
