It all began with Gaia Tea, our small tea company based in Brooklyn, NY. A decade later life opened the door to new adventures. An interest in Meditation organically led to combining my two greatest passions. Join me on a tea journey from Ancient Egypt to the Amazonian Rainforest. Potion is inspired by the indigenous and ancient tradition of drinking herbal teas for meditation practice.

Guayusa
![guayusa]()
Guayusa is a tea from the Ecuadorian Rainforest. It has been part of the Amazonian culture and cultivation for thousands of years. Traditionally, indigenous families of Ecuador wake up at 3 a.m. daily to sit around the communal fire drinking gourds full of Guayusa tea until sunrise. During this time, the village elders teach the youth about ancestral myths, hunting techniques and social values. The shamans will also play a traditional bamboo flute and a two-sided weasel-skin drum and sing soft rhythmic songs during these early morning hours. They interpret dreams from the previous night and make recommendations to guide the community and help them live in harmony with the rain forest. For this the Kichwa nicknamed this tea The Night Watchman.

Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge is our commitment to quality. All of our tea bags are made by hand. That includes measuring herbs, spices and flowers individually into each tea bag.
