Hey everyone, Spencer Mackenzie here and welcome to my INDIEGOGO campaign!
I've built this campaign to invite you to help support my third Studio album, that I am so excited to be releasing to all of you later this year!
As we all know due to the current world circumstances, the live music industry has come to a halt. Any shows that we had booked over the past year were cancelled, and the immediate future does look uncertain.
I had started recording the new album by funding it myself right before the pandemic hit, and decided to continue the project since I had all this free time, however, I was relying on the future income from touring to continue funding the record.
This campaign is simply built to give you the opportunity to pre-purchase the album or one of my added perks, and by doing so you will be, contributing to help us raise some of the funds needed.
Meet the Team
Let me tell you about the very talented team behind the album that brings this album to a whole new level!
I’d like to start with my producer, recording and mixing engineer, Juno Nominated Ross Hayes Citrullo and the use of his amazing studio RHC Music in Toronto Ontario.
Musicians:
- Miles Evans on Keys
- Steve Pelletier on Bass (Juno ward winner on Miles to Go-Colin James)
- Stacey Shopsowitz on Bass
- Adam Cannon on Drums
- Chantal Williams- Background Vocals
- Julian Nalli on Saxophone
- Steve Dyte on Trumpet
- Special guest, Juno award winner, Steve Strongman on Paranoia Blues
- Richard Mackenzie, as co-writer
Preach to my Soul
Preach to my Soul is the name of my new record. In one way or another these songs all come from inspirations around me. These songs are created from the heart and my love for the Blues. The title track is my way to pay homage to the blues icons and to those that are no longer with us, and how I count on them to continue to influence me by making me a better artist, writer, and performer. No matter where they are they continue to ‘preach to my soul’.
Its apparent that the blues is all around us, the album is a mix of some strong blues-rock songs to traditional soul felt blues, to songs about love and relationships going wrong to a song about a personal loss of a loved one. It also covers social issues of ongoing struggles and one on the much needed discussion of mental illness awareness.
What We Need & What You Get
The funding raised will go towards production costs, manufacturing, marketing and live video productions that I am excited to share with you!
There are many ways to help from pre-purchasing the album and/or choosing one of the different perks including my songwriting notes, guitar lessons, virtual or live concerts, virtual on-on-one shows, and more including my favourite, a VIP ticket to a pre-release event at RHC music to be the first to hear my new album before anyone else!
The Impact
I am proud to say that my past two albums have been greatly received, reaching the top of many radio charts and amazing reviews from around the World. None of that would have been possible without the support team behind me. I am so blessed to have worked with some incredible people from producers, engineers, graphic designers, photographers, video production teams, musicians, publicists, radio distribution/hosts and more. I had completely funded my first album 'Infected with the Blues' on my own and my second album ' was partially funded by FACTOR.
Whether this campaign builds $10 or $14,000 I am extremely grateful to you and will be putting it all towards my final costs. My plan is to release this album the end of 2021 and am very excited to get it to you!
Other Ways You Can Help
I know many people have been faced with challenges due to the COVID and has affected many of our financial situations so if you cannot contribute you can help by sharing, tagging, emailing this to your friends, family and business connections. I appreciate your help at any level and could not have done this without your help.
Let’s all make some noise that Spencer Mackenzie is coming at you this Fall with his highly anticipated new album!
Thank you!
Spencer
