Short Summary
Big Moon Press is the brainchild of Cara Davis and Brit Brinson.
We got the idea during late night venting sessions about the current state of
the publishing industry and thought "Why not try this on our own!"
And here we are.
The aim of Big
Moon Press is to build a community of authors who help and support each other
through the often-stressful processes of writing, editing and publishing. We
want authors who are motivated, encouraging and maybe just a little left of
center. Maybe you've been rejected for not having a good enough query letter,
even though your writing is awesome. Maybe you're just not interested in trying
the traditional route at all. Whatever the case, BMP wants to help you be
great. And the best part is you keep all the rewards of your greatness!
What We Need & What You Get
This makes it
difficult for us to beginning behind-the-scenes business matters. It's kind of
a "chicken and the egg" situation." While the ideas we have for
Big Moon are extensive, our pockets are kind of shallow at the moment. This is
why your help and support matters. If you agree to fund our project, you will
receive the following:
- For every $5 donation- A thank you
from Brit and Cara along with an ebook from Big Moon Press
- For every $10 donation- A thank
you from Brit and Cara, an ebook and a paperback from Big Moon Press
- For every $15 donation- A thank you from Brit and Cara, an
ebook, a paperback, and a goodie bag from Big Moon Press.
The Impact
You will be helping two writers accomplish their goal and
hopefully provide additional opportunities to young adult and new adult writers, in particular women and those of color.
Risks & Challenges
If this
project doesn't get fully funded, Cara and Brit will see that their works are
published and those that have donated receive the rewards as stated.
