Project Luna is a 3D, first person, story-driven, puzzle-adventure game with a post-apocalyptic setting. It’s been in development for over 1 year using Unreal Engine 4, and it’s primarily intended for the PC platform.
In the game you’ll search for clues, solve puzzles, and survive the dangers of this new world – all while untangling the mystery of the city, the world – and yourself.

Waking up in a Cryo Chamber right after falling asleep in her bed, Nina finds herself without some of her memories,inside an abandoned laboratory. Dazzled and confused, she’ll need to find a way out… both of this eerie place, and out of her predicament.
Explore the overgrown city of New Atlantis in all of its former glory, and discover the cause behind its current state.
Unlock doors, engage terminals, disable security systems, read emails, evade the many dangers in your way, and bring new life to the city as you make your way through the ruins.
The environment might be unsettling, but there are no monsters. Only you, and the world around you. Can you escape? What are you even escaping from?
You might just leave the final mark of humankind upon this world.

I did my best to fix all bugs, and the build has been tested by a number of people. Still, software gremlins happen, so if you notice something weird, or manage to break the game - please let me know! All feedback is more than welcome!
There is no installer - simply unpack the archive to your desired location once you download it, and run the "LunaPROTnew.exe" file.
This demo is provided as-is, and is the current representation of the game. Things will change (for the better) in the future. Consider all current assets to be work in progress.
Hello, my name is Boris Kozma, and I’m super exited to showcase my project with you!
I’ve worked as a professional in the game industry (both virtual and in real life escape games) for 10 years now. Making games, either virtual or in real life, is both my hobby and my passion.
Playing games like “Half Life 2”, “NieR:Automata”, “Metro 2033”, “STALKER”, and watching the anime “Girl’s Last Tour”, made me really appreciate the world building and lore of those worlds. I wanted to make a game where the focus is the world itself. So, instead of using your brawn, the main focus will be untangling the mysteries of New Atlantis, and the world itself.
This game project started right after I had to give up on a sidescroller I was working on with 2 of my friends. They didn’t have the time to continue working on it, and I didn’t have all the skills needed to carry it on my own. I decided to change that, and took a year and a half off work, in order to learn everything that I waslacking.
This project is the result of that labor, and I’d love to see it grow into a full-fledgedgame.
Currently, the game is fully playable and feature complete – but don’t just take my word for it, download the demo and try it!
The project is set up in a modular way that enables me to create new content very quickly.
The biggest obstacle are the assets – 3D assets in particular take the longest to make (especially since there is only one of me, and hundreds of them!)
I did end up using some marketplace and free assets to speed up the game creation process, but everything has been modified and customized in some way. From geometry, textures, models, code, etc. Nothing was simply dropped in.
Everything else is being completely developed and made by myself: including code, 2D, 3D, and sound files.The music is also completely original. I composed, played, and recorded it myself!
FEATURES YOU’LL HELP ME IMPLEMENT:
- New player and NPC models. The game right now uses MakeHuman assets. I would like to change them into more stylized, anime-like character models. Think of Final Fantasy or NieR:Automata.
- Visible character body in first person, particularly hand animations.
- Improved animations for player climbing.
- Improved and more varied props and environments.
- Smoothening out the movement transitions.
- Animal and predator implementation and AI.
- Optional light survival features.
- Weather effects.
Please note that this is more or less my future wishlist!
The final features to be implemented will depend on the amount of funds the campaign gets:
A lot of people underestimate how much time it takes to develop a game. Even with the proper skillset, you are still looking at a minimum of a few years for something decent. And that’s not even taking starting costs into account (equipment, rent, expenses, etc).
As I mentioned before, this project has been in development for a year now, and I made a chunk of the assets used here (albeit partially) in the year before that. Another thing people underestimate is the money needed for a project like this.
Why a minimum of 45K USD? Well, the game still needs about ~20 months of development time, and that is only if I work on the game full-time and get hired help.

This is my first ever crowdfunded project, and to be honest, it feels pretty scary, but also exciting. I am finally here.
While I did develop games before this, I never carried a project completely alone. I needed to know how far I can go, and how long would it take. I know that these days it’s hard to put money forward, especially since a lot of projects just end up fizzing out or under-delivering – this is the exact reason why I wanted to have a complete demo ready before I started a funding drive for this project.
If everything goes as planned and I receive the minimum required funding, I will aim to release this game within the next ~20 months. I have figured out a pretty quick and effective method to block out my levels, and with some hired help making 3D and sound assets – things that take me the longest to do – it should go pretty smoothly.
I will post constant updates and teasers on the whole process, and do Q&A’s with the community as much as I humanly can – I would like to avoid story spoilers as much as possible, but gameplay features should be a-ok.
In case of any delays or hiccups I promise to be fully transparent about them, and keep everyone informed as to the state of the project.
One way or another, it will be done – and you will know about every step of the way.
