April 5th

Today has to rate as one of the most bizarre days of my life and it directly affects Project Phoenix. You see the CTC (the business centre that “closed down”) announced today that the were not closing down.

Hurrah, that’s great you might say – and I would too, if as a committee member on the executive I had been involved in any way with the decision. I found out about it on a news bulletin. I have asked the other committee members to explain but there has no response. so I can’t really give much more of an explanation.

The first thing that sprung to my mind was the Greek fable of the dog, the ox and the manger (commonly known as the dog in the manger). The town isn’t big enough to support 2 centres and both would die if they try to coexist. Like the dog that would rather starve than let the ox eat from the manger.

I can’t close this project until the days are used up so ...

As for the money raised already? I shall recoup the costs of government paperwork and the rest will go to the Warrumbungle Shire Mayors Bushfire Appeal.http://www.warrumbungle.nsw.gov.au/News/Article...

Thank you to everyone that has worked hard on this with me and to you the contributors – you are absolutely wonderful by reaching out to help and keeping everyone’s hopes up that there is good in humanity.

Your contributions are so very appreciated
