INTRODUCTION
LOGLINE: After defying her family’s strict rules to attend her prom, the daughter of a yakuza boss must survive an assassination plot on her magical night.
Hello, I'm Jaylen Searight, an East Coast filmmaker from Rochester, NY. Welcome to the Indiegogo page of PROM FIGHT!
DIRECTORS STATEMENT
I aim to subvert the traditional romanticized prom night by infusing it with elements from crime and action thrillers. Picture this: a Yakuza daughter decides to sneak out to her prom, only to be targeted by assassins. It's a wild premise, isn't it? I believe contemporary Western cinema often plays it safe, lacking the daring creativity needed to create truly entertaining and offbeat experiences. My vision is to inject a dose of unpredictability into the storyline while still grounding it in real emotions. This film will be a rollercoaster ride of excitement, blending the whimsy of prom night with the intensity of a high-stakes martial arts thriller.
WHY ARE WE FUNDRAISING?
As recent college graduates, our fervor for filmmaking knows no bounds. However, financing this project solely out of our own pockets proves to be a daunting challenge. Your support is crucial in bringing this film to life! To provide some context, a mere $15 donation can feed one crew member for a day. When factoring in equipment rentals, securing locations, and compensating the cast, expenses swiftly accumulate. With your generous contribution, our vision will materialize into the most beautifully violent cinematic creation possible. Every donation, no matter the amount, is deeply valued and appreciated. That's cool and all but for every:
