Each PROOF™ cartridge lasts a full 12 hours, so you can track through your entire night out, even into the next morning. Each cartridge is loaded to the underside of the wristband and locks in magnetically.

PROOF™ allows you to continuously track alcohol levels. Enzymes present in the cartridge convert ethanol into an electric signal, which is then converted to an alcohol level. With one data point per second resolution, PROOF™ keeps a constant monitor.

How much is shipping and handling? Shipping and handling, which includes shipping the items to our offices, packing and fulfilling orders will cost:

• FREE in the Domestic United States (including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska)
• $15 for EU, UK, Canada, and Australia 
• $30 rest of world

Will you refund shipping costs if it ends up being less expensive?

• Yes. We believe that there should be no discrimination based on location, other than the added cost of shipping and fees. We will refund any difference. 

Is there a warranty?

• Yes, 1-year warranty, more details will be available closer to shipment.

Do I have to blow into it?
No. PROOF™ senses the alcohol that naturally diffuses through your skin.

How accurate is PROOF™?
PROOF™ won $100,000 in the NIH/NIAAA Challenge Prize, where it was tested against high-accuracy tests. PROOF™ measures 1 data point per second over a 12-hour period. With continuous data, you can do things such as setting alerts to be notified at pre-designated levels and even interact and connect with others! 

Can I use PROOF™ to see if I'm safe to drive?
No. Never drink and drive. Any amount of alcohol in your system impairs your judgment and slows your reflexes. PROOF™ is not intended to be used to see if you're safe to drive.

Is there a delay between when I have a drink and when PROOF measures a signal?

Yes, it takes time between when you consume alcohol and when it travels through your stomach, into your bloodstream, and exits your skin. There is a delay that varies from person to person. The thing about diffusion is that some molecules zip through and make it quickly out of your skin and into the PROOF™ sensor, and other molecules take their time to get through the stomach. Our algorithm estimates BAC as soon as the first molecules are detected. You can expect some variation caused by what you ate, how many drinks you had, your gender, weight, and many other factors.

How long does the battery last?
Our 12 mAh rechargeable Li-polymer battery is designed to last for 4 days on a single charge.

How long does each cartridge last?
Each cartridge lasts for 6 months on the shelf, and once it's out of the package, the 12-hour-use clock starts.

How does it work?
Science! When you have an alcoholic drink, the ethanol in that drink goes from your stomach into your bloodstream. Some of it you breathe out, and some diffuses naturally through your skin. Our patent-pending enzymatic electrochemical sensor cartridge converts the trace amounts of ethanol into an electrical current that is amplified, digitized, and sent to a smartphone, where our algorithms convert it into an estimate of BAC.

Is my data private?
Yes, absolutely. Your data is private. We will never share identifiable data with third parties. Your BAC data is for you to do with what you please.

Is PROOF™ going to tell me when to stop drinking?
No. PROOF™ promotes a general state of health or a  healthy activity. There is no replacement for good judgment.

Did you create the technology?
Yes! Our team of engineers and chemists created our patent-pending sensor technology that is the basis for PROOF™.

Can PROOF™ read other molecules coming out of my skin?
No. PROOF™ is in development to be the world's first wearable alcohol sensor and detects ethanol molecules that diffuse through your skin. We are excited about the potential for our technology to sense other molecules in the future!

Will there be a free mobile app?
Yes! PROOF™ comes with a free mobile app that provides you with continuous access to your alcohol data and many other features. The PROOF™ app is currently built for iOS and we are working on the Android version. 

Is it water resistant?
No, PROOF™ is not water resistant. Our electronics don't play nice with liquid.
 

What is the range of BAC that PROOF™  measures?                                                                                 PROOF™  measures between 0-0.2 g/dL BAC, and displays ">0.2" for any values above that.
