Imagine This...
The regulars of the Hollywood bar "Public Domain" share their experiences and lives with each other while drinking or working at the bar where everybody is a once popular character that has fallen into the public domain. Together, they wait for their opportunity to be rediscovered and rebooted by Tinseltown.
What does that mean - think Cheers meets Bob's Burgers - but with a sea of famous, and infamous, characters!
Imagine a cast of characters that you don't have to get to know. You've already spent your entire lives with them. They include WENDY DARLING (Peter Pan), DOROTHY (Wizard of Oz), SANTA, SHERLOCK HOLMES, QUASIMODO, HERCULES, SLEEPING BEAUTY, KING KONG, TARZAN, CTHULHU, LITTLE MERMAID, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and dozens of others.
What Happens When We Finish?
When the animation is done our plan is two fold.
A) We want to bring it directly to you, the fans. We want to convert the entire world into "Domainers" and show that this concept is going to really connect with audiences. We will share one universal link and collect every view, like, comment, subscribe humanly possible.
B) When we have an army of people cheering for us, we will go back to the studios and prove that we are not only amazing, funny, clever, and talented - but when we go to series, this thing is going to go on forever and ever - just like The Simpsons.
That's A Lot of Money!
Absolutely. But did you know the average network animation show spends 500,000 to 1 million per episode? When it's a global hit like Simpsons - it's closer to 1.5 MILLION dollars.
We are attempting to do what they did for a fraction of the price because we believe, from the bottom of our demented hearts, that this series is going to be life changing for everyone involved. The idea feels so simple, but so much fun. Every time we speak to someone and say "Picture this.... (Sicily 1922)..." they immediately light up and pitch us their own warped versions of a character they spent their childhood idolizing.
Most of this money is going straight to our animators, who are going to be putting in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours EACH, bringing every frame of animation to life. That includes concept artists, storyboards, animatics, animators, colorists, sound designers and production supervisors. And they are all taking pay cuts to be part of a project that they believe in, with hopes that when this series is picked up, we'll all be working together for years to come.
