Short Summary
I'm Rick Reischman and I've been an actor since High School. Beyond Therapy is my favorite play, and Bruce has always been a dream role for me, so that's why I'm putting it on for Long Beach Playhouse's Collaborative Season. The Collaborative Season is a way for independent companies like mine to put on shows using the upstairs studio stage, but we have to provide all of our own funding. I'm trying to raise some money to cover the cost of the production to put on the best show that we can.
What We Need & What You Get
We are asking for $2,000.00 to cover the basics for this campaign. Your contribution will help us with:
- Building the set including furniture and set dressing
- Provide scripts for the cast
- Costumes
- Props
- Rights for the show
- Theater Rental Space
- Advertising materials such as posters, flyers and postcards
- Programs for the audience
We are an amateur theater company, which means we can't offer pay. However if we raise enough money, we may be able to offer compensation for our actors, director and crew.
What do you get in return? You'll get a great (we hope) show! The best way to support the show is to come and see it. Tickets are available now on the Long Beach Playhouse's Website! Get them here for:
If you can't go to the show, but still want to support it with money, consider one of our perks! We have several perks available and may even include some special surprises for higher tiers. You'll get your name in our program and special thanks from the cast and crew and maybe even some signed photos.
If we don't reach our funding goal, don't worry. We will still get whatever was donated to us. All funds will go towards funding the production with the rest contributed by me.
The Impact
This is the first time even attempting to produce my own play, so your help will be invaluable. If this is succesful, we may continue to produce plays even producing some of my own unpublished work. Your contribution will really make this dream a reality, and you'll get to say you are a patron of the arts. Who doesn't want that?
Risks & Challenges
Putting on your own show can be expensive, but we are looking to keep costs low so we can put on the best show that we can for the least amount of money. Independently producing a show can also result in low turnout. We hope you can help be spreading the word, but financially getting some advertising on social media as well as flyers, posters and postcards will help also.
I've had some success with producing my own short films, and plan on using other talented people in helping me to put this on. I'm building a team to make this the best possible show we can do.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you can't contribute, I completely understand, but you can still help in other ways. Pass this along to your friends and family and ask them to contribute, or just tell everyone about our play and ask them to come and see it! Hand out flyers, or post cards, or email or call people. There are a number of ways you can help get the word out, and believe me, we can use the help!
Thanks for taking the time to read through our proposal and thank you for any help you can give us.
