What is a QikTag?
Each year, people lose thousands upon thousands of personal items. The more devices we have, the more prone we are to losing them. Everyday things like car keys are getting more expensive to replace due to the technology inside.
QikTags small, highly durable tags with unique QR codes that lead to the belonging's web page upon being scanned. The functionality of the web application enables you to set rewards, descriptions, add pictures, and view tag scan geolocation. All of this information is hidden, until you set the tag as lost, with the exception of the geolocation, which is only viewable by you, the tag owner.
With a QikTag attached, any item can be returned directly to its owner without the need for handing it over to police or public lost & founds.
Why offer a reward?
We believe that setting a reasonable reward increases the chance of your item being returned. The person who found your item will be encouraged to contact you, and you'll save time and money. Rewards are optional.

- Website and app translations (English to 5 other languages)
- The first bulk batch of QikTags
- Packaging design and production
- Shipping
- Sallaries
A team of skilled individuals has been introduced to this idea and are eager to do their part.
Campaign stretch
If our campaign is over our goal *fingers crossed!*, we plan to offer more colors, shapes and sizes.
Schedule
Since the most important design aspects and manufacturing workflow have been finished, we are confident that shipping can begin in early February.
How can you help?
Get the word out! Even if you decide not to back us by purchasing a QikTag, we would greatly appreciate your sharing our idea on social media and by word of mouth. Tell all your friends how they can easily "insure" their belongings!
Any questions, comments, and ideas are also very welcome.
A little about me
My name is Paul and I'm a US expat, programmer slash webdev slash tinkerer. I'm fascinated by small electronics and their interaction with the interwebs. My most recent projects are a tiny GSM/GPS CAN-BUS device, which I designed from the schematic up, and intense work on enabling wireless measuring and billing in a network of electric vehicle fast-charging stations. But I also love driving my 29 year old BMW.
