Short Summary

For the connoisseurs of the legendary British rock group QUEEN, rock artist VALENSIA needs no introduction. When Valensia released his remarkable QUEEN TRIBUTE in 2003, he was hailed by the Queen Community, praised for his ability to perfectly recreate the Queen sound. His rendition of My Fairy King has been widely recognized as the only Queen cover which actually surpasses the original. The tribute was praised by Brian May, Eddie Howell (Man From Manhattan), Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople) for the excellent performances and arrangements.

In 2019, Valensia's record company requested a new Queen Tribute but a clash occurred when Valensia sought out only hidden, obscure and unfinished early Mercury songs, while the record company wanted the greatest hits. The QUEEN III album was halted. Which is what brings us here.

Valensia's voice indeed is uncanningly similar to the voice of the young Freddie Mercury and, moreover, he has no trouble in perfectly duplicating Brian May's style of guitar playing or John Deacon's bass playing, nor Queen's inimitable harmony vocals. However, Valensia's truly uncanny feature is the gift to compose and arrange in exactly the similar style Queen composed and arranged their music in the seventies.

Valensia in 1993, alongside Queen, was one of the very few artists who achieved world-wide success by releasing a complex structured song (GAIA), with a total duration of nearly six minutes in  the fall of 1993.  Selling over 1 million copies, Valensia achieved superstardom in Japan at the age of 22.

Why we're here

In 2019 Valensia's record company once again asked for a new Queen Tribute album. But instead of re-recording the greatest hits, Valensia went hunting for the most obscure material Freddie Mercury or any of the other Queen members had written but never released. 
Valensia started recording the Mercury-penned songs "Green", "Vagabond Outcast" and even the mysterious song "F.E.W.A.", of which only parts of the lyrics survived.

By letting the lyrics dictate how the music might have been, Valensia suggestively reconstructed the unknown song "F.E.W.A. (FEELINGS ENDED, WORN AWAY)" and re-arranged songs like "GREEN", "VAGABOND OUTCAST", "NEW YORK" and even the John Glover Kind-penned "(I DO LIKE TO BE) BESIDE THE SEASIDE", all in the Queen 1974-1977 golden age style. Demos of the pre-Queen band SMILE were also included, such as "STEP ON ME" in a Killer Queen-styled of fashion, as well as Brian May's "APRIL LADY".

Although Valensia recorded "BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY", "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS" and "SOMEBODY TO LOVE", the album was canceled in early 2020 because of the lack of hit songs. 
Valensia added Aretha Franklin's "MY PRECIOUS LORD" as a "SOMEBODY TO LOVE" Queen-styled rendition and then halted the project due to the lack of funds, which brings us here: We want to see this album completed and be able to listen to the only artist on Earth who is able to revive the seventies Queen sound, with the actual never heard before Freddie Mercury written or related material.

What We Need & What You Get

As QUEEN fans know, the early Queen albums were meticulously crafted, taking months to record. The budgets for albums from the seventies until the early nineties were astonishing, even Valensia holds the record with his second album "K.O.S.M.O.S.", costing over a quarter of a million euros. 

In the digital era, obviously it has become much cheaper to record albums, and with Valensia owning his own studio any album now can be completed for about ten to fifteen thousand euros, which is only the mixing and mastering of the album.

This album will be called QUEEN III, as it literally revives the QUEEN II sound, using the most obscure, forgotten and barely audible recordings of a young Freddie Mercury and his bands "IBEX" and "Wreckage", or Brian May and Roger Taylor's pre-Queen band "Smile". 
This means the album will sound as if it could have been the follow-up album of QUEEN II; the era which most Queen fans love most.

The Impact

And for most Queen fans the thought of having an album filled with completely arranged songs, sounding like the early Queen AND mostly written by Queen, a very tantalizing thought. Especially knowing the sound of the harmony vocals, the daring, complex arrangements and the pompous productions of those days are a thing of the past.

Queen fans are well aware of Valensia's ability to breathe the authentic life into the songs, which makes this album a spine-chilling experience for anyone who is addicted to the seventies Queen sound: Valensia will repeat what he did in 2003 with his amazing Queen Tribute but now with unknown Queen songs. 

Risks & Challenges

The challenges aren't a factor: we all know Valensia is undoubtedly one of the most gifted and talented artists in this genre. The risk is not getting the funding to finish the production, meaning the mixing and mastering. Not reaching our target means we can't produce the album. Of course, with your support, we will be able to finish production of this masterpiece, which will be the most discussed Queen related music production when available.
