This is a story of joy, sadness, and with your help, redemption!
The Joy:
As some of you know I am officially a bike commuter. I have been riding my bike to and from work daily for some time now. I do share a car with my lovely girlfriend Sam, but we work in different locations, do things on different schedules, so two modes of transportation only seems right. So for Christmas this year Sam surprised me with a bike and I haven't gotten off since. Riding my bike keeps me healthy, happy, and where I need to be. I couldn't explain the feeling I have when riding my bike, but its somewhere between the greatest feeling you could ever have and some feeling slightly greater than that.
The Sadness:
Sadly last night someone stole that joy. Yes my bicycle was stolen right off of my friends porch while we were inside. Tragedy. When I walked outside to hop on my bike and I saw it was not where I placed it my heart sank. I felt angry that this would happen, I felt sad that my joy had been taken from me like it was just a toy. I also felt terrible because I know this bike not only brought me joy, but I could tell how happy it made Sam that she got me a Christmas gift that I literaly use every single day. She was as proud of that bike as I was. I know first question, yes it was locked. Second question, yes I have attempted to file a police report, but APD has there hands tied up with people shooting and whatnot. So...
The Redemption:
I have started this campaign to help raise funds for a new bike! I'm sure everyone can understand unexpected nature of crime and I hope you can both empathize and support me in this! I will be using the funds to purchase a new bike (Not sure if you all have tried buying a bicycle lately, but a quality bike that gets daily use sure ain't cheap) as well as top notch securtiy for the bike. I have a few bike models in mind, as well as new chains/u-locks, but if you all have any sugguestions to pair with your donations I will surely take heed.
Thank You for your help it is greatly appreciated!
