Hello!
My name is Spencer Lindenman. I'm a filmmaker from Long Island finishing up my senior year at NYU and I'm currently in the middle of pre-production of my newest film, RALPH...at least that's what we're calling it as of right now.
RALPH is a film about a 35 year old guy who just can't figure it out. His wife left him, he lost his job, and he can't smell anymore. Since his wife left, he just hasn't been able to smell.
Yeah.
Ralph's latest job is working as a playground aide. There's a kid on the playground named Jamie who just loves talking with Ralph. Jamie has a sister named Heather. When Ralph meets Heather his nostrils come to life. He can smell. Well, not fully - he can only smell her.
So right off the bat you can tell this is a story you're gonna be able to relate to. It's about a guy who can't smell anymore, a guy who doesn't fit in with the world, a guy who just can't seem to find his place. You've all felt like that at some point or another, right? Who hasn't!
RALPH is my thesis film. The last thing that I'll make while attending NYU. I am itching to make it. I really am. I wouldn't be asking you for your hard-earned money if I wasn't excited about it.

Sarah Corrigan - Producer

Sarah is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. where she studied film production and producing.  She has produced several short films while at NYU, one of which screened at the Cannes Festival last May. She currently works at AMC Networks working on their original programming. She has previously worked at Indian Paintbrush, in TV movie development, at a London post production company, and and as an intern on an ABC Family TV sitcom.

Colin Garland - Producer

Colin Garland is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he wrote, directed, produced and edited a number of short films with his peers. Colin won the Best Director award at the 2012 Tisch 48 film festival, is a Tony Hawkins Award recipient, and had his work featured in Sight & Sound Showcases for Narrative and Documentary Film. In addition to writing and directing, Colin also has a strong passion for film editing; he has worked at post-houses in New York City and is currently on the post-production team of an upcoming blockbuster.

Art - Puffy Coats and Pickles
The aesthetic of the film comes from placing every little detail behind the camera as the director envisions it. We need to alter the homes and wardrobes of our characters to fit the vision!

Meals - Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner!

Making a film requires a lot of manual labor as well as brain power. Our crew needs meals that can give them the energy and nutrients they need - as well as a full stomach! For a week we have to feed 25 20-somethings!

Equipment - Rentals

As NYU students, we get to save thousands of dollars on this film through using cameras and lights, among other things, that are provided by the school. However, the package we are given isn't perfect and we need a few small things to bring the film to life.

Transportation - Truck & Gas

Our equipment and crew have to get to set somehow! We will be renting a truck in order to get all of our equipment to and from our locations. As we are shooting on Long Island we need gas for multiple cars to get us there!

Contingency - Everything Extra!

It's always important to have a little wiggle room if something goes wrong. What if someone eats a pickle that was meant to be a prop!?

Festivals - Fees and DVDs

As young filmmakers, festivals are important for exposure to the world outside of university. The festivals we will be submitting to have fees and we will be making lots of DVDs to send off.

If you are unable to make a monetary donation but would like to help you can spread the word! Share with friends and family and help us get out there! Donations of meals, art supplies, costumes, etc. are also very welcome!
