My Story (The Semi-Short Version)
In 2009, I found myself searching for meaning in what was to be my future. I listened to the millions of intelligent minds who told me that pursuing music was too risky and too much heartache while not being a “real” profession. I gave up on myself and my dreams because they weren’t popular, and because they were honestly, frightening. I have come very far from the yearning to win a popularity contest, but at that time, I was too scared to take a step back and realize the path that I had chosen was not true to who I was.
Over the next few years, I worked tirelessly at things unrelated to what made me happiest, in order to be comfortable and to fit a mold– A mold that someone else created for another human being. Ultimately, my goal of being comfortable backfired.
In January of 2016, I instead decided to begin saying "yes" to the things that scared me. I said "yes" to chopping off my hair because I was having a hard time finding beauty in myself in my rawest form and feeling like I was enough. I said "yes" to quitting my full-time job to pursue music as my primary career and to make a mold of my own. I said "yes" to moving to Los Angeles this year to face new, uncomfortable environments, learn more about the business, and challenge myself to relocate on my own because I know I have a lot to learn.
Now, I now can honestly say that I am going after my dreams!!!!!! (Whoooohooooo) Although I am busier than ever, I wake up every day with purpose, and most of all– I am smiling again. I am beginning to fear more, but embrace it. I am beginning to love myself and every step of my journey. I can’t begin to describe how that feels.
I am one of one million musicians, this I understand. However, this makes me excited because that means there are a million others to learn from, a million others to create with and a million others who know exactly what I am going through.
This is just the beginning for me! However, in order to start this journey and show you my vision in its proper form, I am going to need some help!
What Is This About & What You Get
As a first step in fully pursuing music as a career, I am recording my first solo EP to share the musical experience that I have been curating live in a much larger form–the way have always envisioned it. This EP will feature 3 songs, and one bonus track, and will be my first recorded project featuring a full-band sound. I am in the studio now beginning this process and am watching my ideas come to life… and doing the robot every day with excitement because of it.
There are many donation packages with perks that you can select to help me finalize this project on the right-hand side! Also, donors regardless of donation amount will be able to:
-
Be a part in finalizing the art for the t-shirts, album and other merch (First week donors only)
- Receive sneak peaks into the recording process as we finish (Throughout campaign)
- Receive a private link to the "Run" music video prior to the public release (All donors)
