It's 2115 on Mars. The second Earth colony, Ta'ava, is doing far better than the first colony, and the third is almost an afterthought, since the productivity of the precious resource Trazladorine is as high as it is in the second Colony.

 
The second colony is run by an autocratic oligarchy called The Cupola conglomerate. They answer to no one, including the ‘Terrestrial Assembly” and are hiding a dark secret. The Cupola Conglomerate and their hidden agenda are about to face an uprising from an unexpected source that will create havoc with their plans. 

The audience will be submerged deep into the atmosphere that is Colony number 2 – “the domed hell on Mars’. Experiencing first hand the technological and scientific advancements of a thriving society where the future of humanity hangs in the balance. 

Background

In a world where genetic engineering and manipulation are at their peak, guilt and innocence have become concepts available only to those in certain price brackets and genetic modification has become the order of the day.  

Cupola use androids for most of the menial work on Colony 2 including policing, but when the bacteria ridden atmosphere renders many of them useless, then clones are created to carry out slave labour.

The ‘pure’ human beings are bio-hacked to create clones who then carry out all of the work the androids can no longer do….one problem… nobody knows the difference between a clone and a pure human – including the clones…

The advent of bio drone technology even allowed cybernetic androids to be powered by human hearts and brains, thus opening up a whole other dark black market.

Cupola have their work cut out keeping all of these aspects in order and despite a verbal agreement with the underground movement, bodies, gunfire, and loss of face will ring throughout the 'Verse.

Now there is the potential for unrest and even a revolution that even Cupola cannot restrain…

About Red X Flags

              Red X Flags is the story of a burgeoning new society maturing to the state of independence, with the threat of revolution, technology take-overs and absolute corruption.

              Red X Flag explores the dark and deadly world of human exploitation, extreme power and ambition and the strength of the human spirit. By bringing all of these concepts together the production is a powerful story of complex plots and sub plots with amazing technical and visual production, drawing the viewer into a never before seen world of technology, science, spirituality and high drama.  

               Red X Flags pushes the envelope of conscience and transcendence into a post singularity world.  With the advent of technologies in our present day pushing the limits of both technology and human evolution, Red X Flags explores the depths of the possibilities of the inevitable outcomes of what occurs in the next century.

Science fiction as a genre will always provoke the mind and in this case the Red X Flags series provokes the human experience as a whole.

The Cast of Red X Flag

        Fade, for the most part lead a privileged life, totally unaware of the system that he was a major cog in, and the suffering that his life of luxury had cost others.  Fade, like all of our players, will come to see his role in this new society as being way more complex than his own simple quest to achieve his goals and part of a very complicated web of deceit, power and control.

            Raize, finds herself straddling the inside and outside of Cupola. Plugged directly into the pulse of the colony, this show will be as much about Raize's journey, as the gradual revolution within Ta'ava. Allegiances will not only often sway, but also dictate the journey of the colony and Raize's heart wrenching journey along with it.

Dechz, Fade's best friend and sole proprietor of Urwagawa, the bar that plays the backdrop for the first few episodes. Dechz is not as much of a middleman as he lets himself be seen as; however, he's definitely in the middle of all things happening in Ta'ava. Dechz, more than most, knows how to play his cards close to his chest. Fade aside, his only confidant is his trusty sidekick Deirdra, the (illegal) biodroid.

As the individual stories and plot lines emerge the viewer will be captured n this rollercoaster of emotions, intrigue and expectation, making Red X Flags a must see for everyone! 

   Cupola keep things running, they provide everything, and most importantly: (in exchange for freedom) they provide protection. Colony 02, being the most successful of the colonies on Mars, is under constant assault from both drifters from the other failed and/or struggling colonies, but also off world assailants who've been reported to have rode one way tickets on makeshift craft in an attempt to slip into Ta'ava's thriving unregistered population

       Cupola works very hard to keep the details of the Underground secret to the  Terran Assembly, as well as the rest of Mars. There's a nonverbal agreement between Cupola and "The Underground". "Don't interfere, and don't get shot". As long as crime stays underground, and doesn't impede progress, Cupola leaves it be.

 Andy Johnson, a Bridgevale favourite, is with us again in the AD and production department. One of the youngest (if not the youngest?) members of the team, and also one of the most experienced, Andy brings years of onset "do everything" to the team, and can certainly be counted on to "do everything" extremely well!

 Donald Mensah, Dance Commander, and lord of sound, has been working in the film industry as a sound guru for several years, with a background as an electronic music producer stretching back over a decade and across the globe. Passionate about sound like a religion, an expert in Sci-Fi and dark sound design. Donald brings an attention to detail in sound design that keeps the Hollywood studios booking. 

 Upavas, a key force to be reckoned with within our sound department, brings a post secondary degree in Sound Design for visual media and 12 years of experience in electronic music production and mastering into the mix. He is currently affiliated with Sangoma Records, one of the leading newer psy trance labels in the scene and plays his music live at Festivals throughout North America. Having worked repeatedly for TV productions with channels such as NHK and Tokyo Broadcasting as Sound Mixer and Production Coordinator, Upavas is currently an ACFC Permittee in the audio department and sometimes gets invited to work doing production audio for IATSE 891 productions, he is proficient and well experienced with all things regarding post production audio and has learned directly under Robert Grieve. http://www.upavas.com/

 Samantha Derochie, of Phlying Wayl Pictures, has an extensive production resume in the indie film world as well as the mainstream network world. A Jill of all trades, Samantha has worked with Bridgevale many times as a 1st AD, and will be joining us this time shadowing our amazing director, as well as helping out our post production team.

 Kyle Pretzlaff, is back as Bridgevale's key make up! Kyle's swinging back into town for this project, bouncing between projects all over the country. Kyle brings with him an innate understanding of film make up, as well as a solid understanding of our genre. Kyle is a graduate of VFS, and has worked on six feature films, Two international (Scandinavia and Indonesia. ) as well as a whopping 50 short films! Kyle is an accomplished Fx artist and shares credits with artists/actors like : wanting qu , Tristan risk, son real, Iran Rhone to name a few.

         Þ This is no small feat! This is the minimum to pump out not only a PILOT EPISODE as well as TWO SUCCESSOR episodes! Film making is by no means a cheap endeavor-  however Bridgevale Pictures is good at squeezing blood from stones to achieve goals! while making ONE episode on this kind of budget is often hard, we're going to do three.
             Þ One B/A list actor will join our cast (Interest from 3, currently. Need budget to approach their management). Note: Money raised would not be going to crazy salaries, any name actors that join our cast will be doing so out of the awesome good nature of their hearts, and being paid a reasonable fee for their services.

               Þ Same as above.... but better! 40K would not only allow us to improve our production value with better shooting technology, but also to really ramp up our VFX presentation! Currently our CGI is extremely beautiful and immerseve, however it's very limited in it's implementation. 40K would allow every screen to come to life, all the mechs to be individual instead of copied, and for the general atmosphere to really live and breathe with our players.

                Þ We're shooting the whole season. Well, a mini season. 6 Episodes of the current arc mapped out and all here, all you, no outside interference,  At this point we'll have a minimum THREE pathfinding (which in case you missed it in the video, is an event where the viewers decide the outcome of the situation) events!
  

                Þ  A few people asked why Red X Flags takes place exclusively on Mars. For now, that's the story, however later on in the series there is discussion of things expanding not only to other colonies, but perhaps off world and perhaps even farther. IF we hit 60K, well, there will be a BONUS pathfinding event to decide.

  The whole schebang! We're talking pilot, series, amazing effects, name actors, pathfinding, and incredible production value!

                 Þ Going this far, while completely manageable, was never really the goal, but I can assure you that if it does get this far, well, we'll scale to accommodate. The stories we want to tell are best told in a series medium, however we could for example, do the series for 60, and filming back to back, also shoot a TV movie. Who knows. If we get this far though, we won't disappoint!

       Þ This certainly wasn't part of the plan. However it's not unheard for a bunch of people, bound by passion, to crowdfund something entirely out of the park. Dealing with this kind of money, Red X Flag's production scope would be in the big leagues. There's nothing we wouldn't be able to do on this budget (as far as indies go). If this benchmark is hit, we'll talk to the community about where to take the show past the first season. I mean, we could easily get to the third season, or shoot a feature, with 100K!
