My name is Chris Easterly and I’m a filmmaker from Frankfort, Kentucky. I’ve been a professional film and TV writer in Los Angeles for more than a decade, but currently I’m writing and producing movies back in my home state.
Some of you know about our Kentucky-based indie film Devil's Hollow, and many of you have supported it. Rest assured, Devil's Hollow is still happening, it's just that the gears grind more slowly on a project of its size and budget.
In the meantime, I didn't want to just wait around. So we started making another movie. It's called Relict, and this story has become near and dear to my heart, a story of revenge, loss, letting go, and ultimately, hope. I am co-producing it with my talented friends JC Karsner and Travis Brown.
Relict is a true independent film project, a hometown community effort. Everyone from my parents to the local police have pitched in, allowing us to use props, locations, original music, and a thrift store chair we spattered with fake blood for a murder scene! All the actors and crew are local, and have graciously volunteered their time and talent to help realize this story.
Production on Relict is about 70% complete. So far, everyone involved has personally funded this movie. From loaning microphones and a camera, to renting lenses, to providing pizza for the actors, to buying a mini-crane to get some cool shots, Relict is a true independently financed feature film.
But we still have to pay for some camera equipment, editing software, music rights, color correction, and sound design.
If you would like to join us on this journey and help us complete Relict, please consider donating to our project. You can get some cool perks, which you can see on the right hand side of this page.
If you can’t give, that’s okay too. You can help by spreading the word about this locally made movie through your Facebook page and other social media.
We can’t wait to share Relict with the world. Thank you for being a part of it however you can!
