What is Shuttr?  

Shuttr is bluetooth remote shutter release for your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy S3, Notes and more high-end Android 4.0+ devices*.    

Why Shuttr?

Ever tried taking self-portrait with your smartphone but found that the view was always limited by your arm-length?

Ever tried to take a group photo but one guy is always missing in the picture?

Ever trying to take photo with kids but they never stay in front of the camera for more than 2 seconds?

Shuttr is designed to solve all these problem by resting in your keychain and allow you to take photo with yourself, your friends and your kids anytime you want.

What are the differences?

Shuttr is probably the most easy to use Remote Shutter for Smartphone ever invented.

Shuttr works on all IOS 5.0+ devices (current IOS version is 6.1.2) with a camera on it.  i.e. including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5,  iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini, iPad with Retina Display, iPod touch 4th generation or above.    

Shuttr works with the camera app of iOS.  You do NOT need to install any app.  Just pair it up and it works right the way.

Android:

We tested the following handset to be working with Shuttr without the needs of additional camera app::

Samsung Galaxy S3, Notes 2, Notes 10.1.  (Shuttr MAY NOT works with lower end or older Samsung model, including S2, Notes 1, S3 mini etc, we DO NOT recommend Shuttr to you in case you are using these models)

LG Nexus 4

Sony Xperia S (Works only with when our own Camera app installed)

Different Android smartphone makers can choose their own bluetooth chipset and modify the camera app on their own specification so ensuring compability is a much more difficult task.

We do NOT recommend HTC users buying Shuttr as HTC seems to have their own standard in remote shuttr.

Other android, there are quite a number of Android smartphone out there and it is impossible for us to test the compatibility of all of them.  But we tested a couple of Lenovo and Xiaomi models and we unfortunately found that there were either pairing issues or application issue with Shuttr.

FAQ:

1. Do I need to pair up every time?

No, you only need to pair once.  The next time you use, you just turn on Shuttr, press once to connect to the bluetooth and you are ready to take photo.  

2. Can I use Shuttr with more than one smartphone?

Yes, you can always pair up Shuttr with another smartphone when it's turned on and the LED is flashing.  But if you want to use it with the first smartphone again, you have to pair up again. 

3. How far can I take a photo remotely with Shuttr?

It is using bluetooth 3.0.  The range is around 10 meters / 30 feet.  No line of sight is needed.  You can take a photo by pressing shuttr button inside your pocket.

4. How long will the battery last?

Shuttr is designed to work up to 2 years without battery replacement if you remember to turn it every time after use.    If you DO not turn off Shuttr every time after use and let it go into sleep mode, the battery will be drained out in around 1 month.  So please TURN OFF Shuttr every time after use.

In case the battery ran out, you can always replace another RC2025 battery, which is easily available in most stationary stores.

5. How big is Shuttr?

61 X 26 x 6mm.  It's even thinner than most key holder or USB drive!  

6. When will I receive my Shuttr?

We already finished all the hardware and software design of Shuttr.  We even finished the injection molding of Shuttr.  Trial production of 100 units had been successful and we have fixed up all minor glitches that shown up in the trial run.  

What we are waiting for is an initial order of 3000 to kickstart the mass production.

Once we receive a total order of 3000 units, we will request your shipping address and color combination of your choice and start the production.  

7. How about the lens?

Our lens are made of glasses with high rate of transmission with aluminium case.  We make each and every unit one by one.  The unit cost is high but we have a much lower minimum order of quantity.  We are 100% confident that we will ship out the lens to you on or before the estimate delivery date.

8. Can Shuttr take video?

Yes of course, just flip your camera app into video mode and trigger the action with Shuttr!  No additional app is needed on iOS and S3, Notes 2 or Nexus 4.

9. Does Shuttr works with other camera app like Instagram or Vine?

It depends on the app develop to implement the API.  Currently, it only works with Camera+ but not on Instagram or Vine.

10. Is the Wide Angle in the $50 Combo is Macro + Wide Angle?

Yes!  Sorry for the confusion.  But Indiegogo doesn't allow to make a title longer than 30 characters!  All Wide Angle lens mean Wide Angle + Macro.

11. Does it work with BlackBerry?

It is NOT supported in the current version.
