What is "Resonator?"
I probably say this everytime I make a new record but I'm saying it again, this is one of the best records I've ever made. Back in April, Jim Dimick and I filled my living room with guitars and recording equipment and banged out multiple versions of 18 songs in a three day, forty hour blast of blues. The result is "Resonator" a mix of originals and covers that is as close as we've come to capturing the spark of improvisation and adventure that has always been part of my live gigs.
Release date?
November 24, 2012. Advance copies will be mailed November 10, 2012.
What do I need?
In short, I need a little help getting the album up and running and into your ears. Just purchasing it in advance will be a huge help and if you feel inclined to throw a little more money into the pot, that would be greatly appreciated.
My budget is $1250, which is pretty modest by today's standards. Selling as few as 50 downloads of the album in advance would bring me almost half way to that goal and greatly increase the likelihood that I can break even on this record. At the level that I play at, making records is mostly about spreading my music and building my following. Having said that, covering expenses is a neccesity and getting a running start on those costs will go a long way toward making this record a success.
The costs (aka "what the hell are you doing with the money you raise?).
In case you think I'm gonna spend this money on marijuana and hamburgers, here is the breakdown of costs for this record:
$450 - CD manufacturing (100)
$75 - Download cards (100)
$75 - Posters (100)
$400 - Song licensing (5 cover songs)
$250 - Unforseen expenses (promo, postage, who the heck knows but NOT marijuana and hamburgers
$1250 - total budget
Can I hear some of the record?
Indeed you can! Click on the gallery to play mp3s of songs from the album. Check back often because I will be adding mor songs for you to hear.
Thank you!
However much you decide to contributo or whether you contribute at all, I very much appreciate your interst in my music and your support. As a cheesy title from a 70s hard rock album once said "you are the music, we're just the band."
Thank you!
