The Project
Rest Stop is a classic Stephen King story. As part of his Dollar Baby program, we're adapting it into a short film. Written and produced by an award-winning team including Grady Michael Hill (Jerry, Night Whispers), and Blair Hoyle (Night Whispers, The Beckoning) and directed by first time director Patrick Abernethy, Rest Stop will serve as both an exciting short film and a tribute to Stephen King's work.
Other members of our team include Elizabeth Dennis, Jason Ledford, Adrian Jackson, and Michael Bardon.
Check out stories about our project here and here. See the IMDB page here.

The Money
This film is a great opportunity for us, and we want to make it as good as possible. That being said, movies are incredibly expensive and they can easily suffer from lack of funding. To help you feel comfortable donating to our cause, we'll be completely transparent about our expenses and where the money will go.
- Most of the money will go toward paying our cast and crew for their time, as well as feeding them on set.
- We're hoping to afford improved camera and light sets, which can be expensive to rent.
- We hope to have the money to afford several effects shots, including a few shots from a helicopter. This is obviously a difficult and potentially expensive hurdle.
- We want to have enough reserve money to ensure the film's success in the event of unforeseen complications.
We will of course answer any questions or concerns about the use of the money throughout the filming process.
