Our film is reuniting much of the crew from 2016’s Oak Bones. The primary crew is the Junior/Senior class from Messiah College’s Film and Media Arts program. The entire project is a high quality undergrad student work. We have students from all different disciplines making costumes, artist renderings, social media campaigns, and press releases. Messiah has an exemplary program, with a rich history of beautifully filmed shorts. You can see who will be doing each crew position in our Gallery here on IndieGoGo.
Restraint is a Film about class warfare, and the haves and have nots. It is a science fiction film done in the classic tradition of speaking about social issues of our time, using primarily practical effects. Inequity between people is an important issue that is still happening today and that harms everyone. We hope our film will speak strongly to this issue.
How the Money will be spent when raised
We’re giving it our all to make the best film possible. Each of the crew have put in their own money and time to make this film a reality. We have a half dozen other crew members who are volunteering their time as well. And to top it all off Messiah College has graciously allowed us to use all the film equipment we need. They have even purchased new pieces that will be used in the making of our film.
Even with all this we are still falling short of what we need to make the film. We need money to pay for locations, high caliber actors, and feed the crew. As we may not reach our full goal here is a breakdown of how the money will be spent as we reach each landmark.
$1000-The first Thousand dollars will go to paying for locations, housing for actors on location, and costuming.
$2000-The second Thousand will go towards feeding the crew and actors, and travel expenses for actors.
$3000-The Third Thousand will be spent on Improving the food we feed people and the quality of everything else we have already listed.
$4000 The Final Thousand will go towards, paying for the film to be distributed to festivals, and paying for the perks we are giving you.
All money raised above the stated amount will go towards improving the quality of what we have already stated and for travel and other festival expenses. Festivals are an expense that we have only allocated a relatively small amount of our budget given its actual cost.
