Description and History of the Fountain:
The soda fountain facilities including the pink and mint green serpentine countertop with 16 stools have a long, rich history dating back to 1924. Originally part of the Hotel Charlotte, many notable figures of history enjoyed these facilities including politicians (Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor Roosevelt, Margaret Truman, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Nixon), musicians (Elvis Presley, Tommy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, and Bill and Charlie Monroe), and athletes (Babe Ruth and Jack Dempsey)
Subsequent to the closing of the Hotel Charlotte in 1973 the soda fountain facilities were maintained as an antique display by various owners. Some of the equipment was used in the 2006 film Walker Payne. In 2009 Lost and Found Soda Fountain, Inc. purchased the facilities for use in reviving the concept of an old time soda fountain pharmacy.
