I am a film maker, motivational coach and flight instructor. I have spent most of my life flying every possible flying machine. Somehow this prepared me for the challenge of AUTANA.
Return to AUTANA is a flight back in time to face the legends and the secrets of the Tree of Life. It is a quest to organize an expedition to such remote location and conquer unexplored terrain there. The cave is known as the oldest cavern on earth and therefore unexpected flora and fauna could be found. With modern technology drones we'll fly again through the cave for a bird's eye view of the original AUTANA crossing flight.
Contributors will take active part in the worldwide diffusion of this unknown wonder; The Tree of Life and it s unique cavern system. This flight has been an open challenge for other pilots, unmatched for 30 years. It is time to Return to AUTANA.
The sum required for this venture is $ 150,000.00 which covers two separate expeditions to AUTANA with equipment , drones and camera crews with a professional team of climbers and film makers. Also includes many hours of helicopter flying time since the location is extremely remote. Insurance, ground transportation south of the country to nearest town, team gathering and several days of logistics and safe descent to the caverns.
Post production, original music score and final edition of resulting documentaries (long and short versions) plus the publishing of a journal covering the entire adventure, exclusive for our contributors with a vast photographic coverage and live interviews.
Very few places on earth remain unknown or unexplored. AUTANA is one such place. The Tree of Life is in every religion and even in Hollywood's Spielberg's "Close Encounters" and James Cameron's "Avatar". No other mountain has a cavern that pierces the rock from side to side. No other pilot has done anything like this, much less in the Amazon jungle. The message will be one of harmony with Nature, conservation and adventure.
I have many years of experience in film production for Discovery Channel, Natgeo, BBC Documentaries, TF1 and 60 Minutes Australia. Plus 10+ successful expeditions to the Amazon Jungle.
The Amazon jungle is a major challenge. Everything has to be carefully planned and orchestrated. Nothing can be improvised. My previous trips to AUTANA gave me the proper insight to minimize risk and prevent situations. Only the weather can alter a filming schedule and that can be controlled by avoiding the rainy season. Food and supplies will depend entirely on the helicopter during the filming. That means the team and crew will be on their own till their return from AUTANA to civilized grounds.
People who take part in this project can help us promote this adventure via social networks and every possible way like live interviews and person to person. Every action counts.
We expect to cover the required funds. If we should not reach our goal we will donate the collected amount in the form of medicine and supplies to the Piaroa indian tribes that live near AUTANA .
