The documentary “Ride Back to Faith” accompanies Hermann, a 62-year-old filmmaker who, after years of doubt and distance from God, embarks on a pilgrimage to Rome in the Holy Year 2025 to rediscover his faith. On his journey by Vespa, from Innsbruck Cathedral to Rome, he meets various pilgrims, spiritual dignitaries and other people who offer him new perspectives on faith. Hermann reflects on his past, especially the conflict with his deceased father, and seeks answers to questions about the meaning of faith today. Arriving in Rome, he experiences a symbolic renewal as he walks through the Holy Door and realizes that faith is a journey of the heart.
"Ride back to Faith" is the title of this new 90 minutes feature documentary for cinema, TV and streaming. It will be the third film of a trilogy after Hermann Weiskopf - the director and main character of the film - and his film team already finished the two former films "Ride back to Freedom", about Covid-19 and "Ride back to Best Age", about what it means to grow old in our days.
