Story of My Book
Right the Reset is a story about a trio of new friends who go on a mission to protect their way of life when higher powers threaten to destroy everything they've ever worked for. On a continent recovering from twenty years of plague, political upheaval, and lost individualism, their task grows from something as small as passing along a message to something as large as reviving the broken human spirit. Their target: the education system.
My name is Ania Luckiewicz and I am the author of Right the Reset. I wrote this book because I wanted to talk about the concept of mastery learning versus learning for test scores, in a way that is fun and engaging. As it stands, students are getting left behind and disassociating from academia when they are not given enough support to push through a tough lesson. Why do we normalize going through school with C's and D's? Why even B's? How can you build on top of an unstable foundation? I believe that today's society has the technology and the tools to totally reimagine the education system, but it needs a push to pursue something so new.
My hope is that, in reading this book, you will discover that a change in how we learn is not only necessary, but realistic. I want you to see this book as an opportunity to engage with ideas of education reform, tackle questions of human relevance and vulnerability, and escape into a thrilling fiction adventure that will leave you wanting more.
The year is 2048. Katie Luczynski, Merritt Campbell-Gibbs, and Raegen Cregar are students at Ivory College, a growing institution off the coast of the notorious American Partition. Though not initially the best of friends, these three girls find themselves entangled in a plot to shut down their school and disestablish their island as an independent power. Seemingly unprepared for the task, they're asked to travel to the Partition, face down corrupt leaders, and prove a man's innocence to an alien people wracked with grief and anger. Challenged by the aftereffects of the First Plague, the Superbugs, and the Anthroviroid, the protagonists have to work together to show the world a path to a more fulfilling life. But when secret identities threaten to break the bonds holding them together, can Katie, Merritt, and Raegen trust each other enough to thwart an enemy bigger than anything they had imagined? Can reformed education really be the key to opposing a deadly, foreign Partition?
You will love this book if you enjoy escaping into dystopian and sci-fi narratives. This novel is meant to grab and keep your attention, while making you sit back on your haunches and think a little. Whether you excelled in school or slaved through that part of your life, I think we can all agree that areas exist that we should handle better. If you like authors like Dan Brown, Ruta Sepetys, or Max Brooks, this book will be the next best thing to add to your shelf.
Ultimately, I hope that Right the Reset inspires reflection and fruitful dialogue, pressing into engaging questions like:
- What did I gain from my own education?
- Where are we going as a society?
- How can we do better?
I look forward to exploring these questions and beyond with my readers. In times where we are continually pressed for time and overwhelmed by constant media, I believe discussing pressing current issues through a popular fiction storyline is one of the best methods of conveying a message. With Right the Reset, I hope that the plight of the characters generate strong feelings of love, friendship, and inspiration to change us all for the better.

The biggest challenge with publishing a book is delivering the finished book to the backer, specifically my mailing of the book to you. I have eliminated this risk by including the cost of mailing and shipping the signed copies into each pre-order tier.
The risk of delivering the pre-sale copies of my book is contingent on the publisher we use.
