My name is Josh Hill, I live in Bozeman, MT and I want to be a software developer.
I got into programming because I saw a way to achieve things that seemed impossible. Two years ago when I started this journey, I never would have thought this is where I would be today. I started by going back to Montana State University to study Computer Science. Then two months ago I decided to apply to a prestigious software development course called App Academy. I knew it would not be easy because of their 9% acceptance rate. My first interview went horrible but they gave me some study materials and another month to study. I cruised through the study material and did every coding tutorial I could find until my second interview. This time it went great, I answered the questions with ease and was accepted the next day. Over 450 people applied and only 20 were accepted, I am so excited to have this opportunity! Getting accepted into App Academy was the first step, step 2 is living in New York for 9 weeks.
Over the 9 weeks I will have built up a large amount of code to show potential employers. At the end of App Academy they host an interview day to introduce top tech companies looking to hire developers. My goal post App Acdemy is to get a job as software developer. This will be a great start to a fulfilling career.
Help me achieve this dream by funding my IndieGoGo campaign. Learning to code in this environment is the first step towards achieving the impossible. The money raised in this campaign will be used for rent, food, and transportation costs.
You can track my progess through App Academy and beyond on my blog at www.roadtothecode.com. I will be keeping you updated at every step of the way. I am using your donation as an investment in my future and want you to see what that investment is doing.
