About Me

I am raising money in order to go to a pre-college summer program in New York, called the New York School of Interior Design. I am in my second year of high school, and am a determined student ready to take a step towards my future. I spend most of my days at school. When not at school, I am most likely working as a waitress or babysitting. I also volunteer weekly at a retirement home for seniors.

I have this opportunity to travel to New York and do a program that will help me jump start my career. Please take the time to watch my video, donate and share. Thank you.

You are that teen who reads design magazines, who helps her friends rearrange their rooms, who can’t help running his fingers over textiles, and who stops to gaze at fixtures. Is a life in interior design your path? NYSID’s Pre-College program will start you on your way to designing beautiful spaces that improve peoples’ lives.

This program, taught by the same established designers who teach in our undergraduate and graduate programs, will immerse you in the practice of interior design. You’ll study color, materials, architectural drawing and digital media. You’ll be taught and advised by a professional in an introductory design studio. You’ll visit design firms and museums, and spend your down-time hanging out in the nation’s design capital. This program will build your portfolio, answer questions about your future, and a give you head start in interior design. Students receive one undergraduate credit for completion of this course.

The Pre-College program is open to high-school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Housing is available for an additional fee (summer only), and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
