So What Is Rooah! All About?
Rooah! is evolving the
way internet is accessed, and utilized, by providing free internet access
through our tablet devices. Rooah, actually spelled “Ruwa”, means water in the
Nigerian language of Hausa, and Spirit in Hebrew. Both things share the
qualities of an impelling force that drives growth and are essential to life.
At Rooah!, we believe that the internet should work in the same way, and that
everyone is entitled to an opportunity to utilize such a potential. Our goal is
to enable people with the internet and best tools to inspire innovation,
creativity, and growth; but most of all, free and unrestricted access to all
things which may be necessary to reaching one’s full potential.

Where Will Internet Be Free First?
We know that providing free internet access is a daunting task, so we have devised a simple plan in order to deliver our tablets to people that will utilize it to the fullest. Our prime objective is to complete the software, as previously mentioned, in order to have a product that is in the position to start providing the free internet service. In order to properly scale to the number of people we are looking extend this service to, which is in the millions, the first group of people to receive the free internet service are the students of select universities in Nigeria.

Rooah!'s First Stop
We are surely looking to provide this service in the United States but, we want to pilot our service in the most challenging emerging market, which happens to be Nigeria. Nigeria is truly unique to the world because it is the most populous country in Africa, the 7th most populous country in the world, and has a colossal population of 178 million people, compacted into a land mass nearly doubled the size of Texas. In addition, the youth of Nigeria (under 25) accounts for over 60% of the Nigerian population. Due to the high density of people, it will truly be a challenge getting our networks to provide steady and reliable internet to such a large number of people simultaneously. Additionally, with such a large number of youth, they will be accessing information for education, browsing social media, using email, and sharing local music, videos, and multimedia content. So by making Nigeria the vanguard for our “#FreeTheWeb” campaign, we will not only be adequately prepared to provide our service in any other location, but we will be granting a large majority of youth in Nigeria the ability to become the pioneers of a interactive generation, providing an inside perspective of young Africa.
Rooah! In the U.S.
Although the United States will not be the first to see our free internet service, the Peacock tablet can still be utilized by anyone, in any state. The Peacock's simplicity and convenience allows one to begin using it straight out of the box. The Peacock can easily detect, and connect to any available WiFi networks in the area, and the dual SIM slots allows the tablet to be practically outfitted with the ability to be used as a phone and host a data plan. With reliable internet availability so widespread in the U.S., it arguably makes it easier for the average U.S. citizen to take advantage of all the free benefits of internet along with using our tablet.

Why We Need Your Help
The most complex part about our mission is the custom designed Rooah! operating system through which the user is granted access to the internet. Our software was initially programmed to work with our USB modems for computers so it is currently in Windows format. What we are in the process of doing is reprogramming this Windows software to run as the operating system of our tablets. Our programmers have worked around the clock to produce our current software, but we have taken up a pretty intricate programming task that we need some help to fund. With your backing, we will be able to fully complete the Rooah! Peacock tablet and begin delivering it to those in need.
