INVISIBLE DISCO PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS RURAL, A SHORT FILM
Hello! My name is Blaire Sharman and I am an actor/writer/director and soon-to-be graduate of NYU Tisch with my BFA in drama. I am passionate about female-driven stories that truly prescribe to the notion of setting as a character - settings often influenced by my deep love of the outdoors. I am also the writer of Rural, a short film shooting in July in my hometown in Virginia! As a group of recent NYU graduates, the creative team and I are ecstatic to start the next phase of our lives as independent artists with this project.
THE STORY
RURAL follows the story of Beth, a young woman grappling with her newfound bisexuality in conservative, rural Virginia while also navigating relationships and seeking self-acceptance. It is a story first and foremost about identity and finding support within oneself when those who are closest to you cannot offer it.
We hope that by sharing this story, our audiences will be able to see themselves in these characters and experiences, and be reminded that anyone struggling to accept themselves is not alone.
